I’m definitely a precon guy too, and if scientists could find a way to recover the energy that I lost between seeing the announcement and then seeing the gem value… we could finally power spa pools for everyone in Africa. Contrast this to Magic Online where a $5 account upgrade package gives you some pretty solid decks. Legacy Burn, Modern Infect… I’ve built up the Braids Commander deck in paper (which was much more expensive than $5) and it can do some nasty things. If I was wanting to spend real money on digital Magic then I’d be going for that over Arena, no question. Keep arena for Starter Deck duels and (fingers crossed) fiture “story deck” type events.
I think that 1 rare is 350 gems. The precon deck seems to search your library for a card in a specific set. Therefore 1 mirrex and 1 botanical sanctum from OTJ. That’s a 50% increase for a guaranteed rare over a pack. I hope the set thing is unintentional and not a poor marketing trick.
Yeah, and it's too bad because some of the decks are pretty good. The current batch of Standard decks area ll very playable, I just wish they were cheaper!
I got all of the precons after your video I commented on about making the BR otter deck modifications. I'm still looking forward to your modification of that deck. (You have cost me a few hundred FYI; my wife wants to sell you to China.)
I think this is a nice idea but poor execution. Not that crazy about the decks offered but they're ok but the prices are insane as you say. I don't understand why they have to always be so stingy with things. I guess because it's a popular game, they don't feel the need to price it better compared to what other games do?

Imagine how much a Timeless deck would be....may need to sell a kidney.
pretty much the same actually, unless it has more rares/mythics then standard/brawl decks. Older cards are not worth more on arena
The variations of the lands are how they drive up the prices in the decks.
Yeah 19k gems for a dino deck, costing only $120...fuck insee why people say they love magic but hate the marketing setup and pricing

The thing with the different versions of Botanical Sanctum is a scam
The free starter dino deck you get is more functional than the one you can buy lol
Noooooooo! I expected one of your upgrade videos 🥲
Don't worry, Second Chance and Snack Time are both in the works, one of them will be up in a couple days! :)
@@AffinityforMTG Great! Looking forward to it! Good work!!!
Otters, the otter deck... please... ill give you free hugs and my 20 year old daughter. (You cant give her back though.)@@AffinityforMTG

woah...that is crazy, so if you buy a pre con you have to still craft cards?
I do like the idea, but the prices are way too high for virtual cards with no redemption value.
good idea. poor implementation. can only get better. Challenger decks would now be possible on arena. another small step in the right direction
