    As far as the drooling from kitty, that is love drool. Many cats that are in love with their owners drool with great affection. 🐈
    Love the idea of the walking stick flute! ❤

    This was the first time I have ever watched one of your videos. Sgi (thank you) for making it. I always appreciate learning how others do things. I have this 4ft extension bit I use for working river cane. I also use plumbers sandpaper. When I get river cane or bamboo, I always try to get it as green as is possible and torch it. The powdery outside will melt and acts like a varnish. I also find the cane and bamboo to be mire resistant to cracking when I torch it in the green state. It's also neat to see it go from a powdery green to a shiny light brown in seconds. Never made a flute. Made a few blow darts. I play a B-Natural drone flute. Keep doing what you do.

      @KenJohnsonUSA thank you all so my friend for your kind words! I do have a couple of videos you might be interested in on curing bamboo. It sounds like you've got a good handle on things but as you said it is nice to see how others do sometimes. If you ever need any ideas or help on making a flute, do you have hundreds of videos about that! Thanks so much again for watching!

    I think you are thinking of the movie Bruce Lee wrote, that David Carradine starred in called "The Circle of Iron". In it, he plays a walking stick flute that he also fights with. Great movie. He plays a blind master. Bruce Lee was supposed to play the blind master. But at that time, Hollywood decided Bruce Lee was too Chinese, even though he was the one who wrote it. Bruce was also originally supposed to have played Kane in Kung Fu.

    While watching this video i noticed a bit of struggle you had using the sandpaper and dowel rod. I make river cane blowguns sometimes. I use a bit called a step bit or unibit and get them at harbor freight. Find a piece of pipe the bit shaft will fit a little tight and hammer it in. Cut the pipe the length you want and thread the inside of the other end about an inch. Locktight in a 2 or 3 inch bolt in the threaded end and cut off the bolt head... Then just chuck it in a drill and sand afterwards. That might help you.

    • @BlueBearFlutes
      @BlueBearFlutes  27 днів тому +2

      @ivancrews4361 Hey my friend, that's a great suggestion! I have one of those bits in the shop and use it on an occasion however in this particular case I usually drill the inside out or knock it out with a shaft as I mentioned. Forever, that has been the easiest way for me. I would definitely try your suggestion.

    I am trying to make a deep flute but not sure what I’m doing wrong. It seems to overblow at times but it’s also not super loud? How to make a deep flute loud? Does everyone just have a mic on their giant log drones in videos online? It seems like contra bass flutes have different mouth pieces but why? It’s like perpendicular to the flute body but why?

    • @BlueBearFlutes
      @BlueBearFlutes  18 днів тому +1

      @homarcolin2831 Thanks for your comment and I hope that these answers help you. Low tone flutes and drones can be loud. The thing is, low tones don't travel that far. With regards to overblowing, I have a video on my channel about that. Of course it is very dependent on the flute as well because you could have the body of the flute too long which will tend to cause it to overblow to begin with. But on a case-by-case basis, my video should help. And next, with the contrabass flutes, since historically they were not present in native american flutes, they have been modified so that people can play them more conveniently. Not everyone makes them the way that I do today and I haven't always done so either. I do have videos about them however. Feel free to contact me through my website if you would like me to take a look at your flute.
