- Idle Planet Miner tips and tricks. I've been playing this game for a couple of months now, and boy, do I wish I'd known the things I mention in this video when I started!
Join my Discord Server! / discord
I've picked up a few tricks here and decided to reset my game, convinced I'd go much faster, which I am. That being said, I feel we'd all be very grateful if you'd used a script for what you're going to say and when. The deep-dives that you touch in on are much better suited as individual themes for other videos.
TL:DR; It's incredibly difficult to follow your pace when you keep jumping back and forth between what you're trying to convey.
That's the plan. I have to pick and choose which videos I do, especially as an adult with kids and work, etc., when this is only a hobby. If this video does well, there's enough material for me to do tons of much shorter, more pointed ones.
One thing to think about: galaxy value is based on the value generated, not the MONEY generated. In other words, you don't have to sell something for it to count towards your galaxy value!
That means that if all you did was upgrade mining but your cargo/speed couldn't keep up at all and you had a huge backlog of mined but not transported ore, you'd still get credit for the value of all of that ore towards your galaxy.
My suggestion is then that you should actually only put minimal money into cargo/speed at first and put ALL your money into mining speed. Only upgrade cargo when you hit a bottleneck, and even then it's ok to backlog a bit because you've mined and banked that ore (even if you can't smelt it yet).
If that doesn't make sense, think of it in terms of "dollars you have to spend to mine X ore." You have to spend WAY more dollars for the same amount of ore if you max out cargo/speed. You want to just be _barely_ keeping up with your mining rate. Anything beyond that is a waste of money imho.
Another tip: Instead of selling the ore, sell an alloy or even better, an item. For example, with 20,000 copper, you can get $20K. However, you smelt the copper into 20 copper bars and turn 10 of them into 2 copper wires, you can then make a battery, which costs 10 copper bars and two copper wires. A battery sells for $70K. Just from smelting and crafting, you are able to get $50K more.
Edit: If your sell prices are different, that's on you bc I am using the default sell prices (no market fluctuations)
There is a matter of time however. And time is money.
Yes you CAN sell alloys or items for higher profit. But you have to wait for those to be made. crafting items specifically is a bottleneck.
You need to be e always investing to maximize return and gains. And that means 20,000 ore being sold might be worth more in the short term than waiting for that 20,000 ore to turn into a battery for 70k. You have to evaluate your smelting and crafting times though. And also your market price fluctuations.
yes I agree, when you get higher in the game to, Thermal Scanner. no ways I'm selling it, the time it takes and the price not worth it at all!
Time is money bro. Gotta think of the big picture. By the time I sell 1 battery for 70k I could sell 300k in ore
that depends where your stars land, i had copper beating my iron for awhile
Edit; Support was great! They restored my purchase.
-----
I discovered that you can start over. Settings > credits > full reset. Unfortunately, the "remove ads" is gone also. Contacted support
do you lose your ships and other things you bought?
I had only bought the ad free so far
I wish I knew what all would get affected by this. I wouldn't mind trying it out, but I don't want to lose anything I've worked hard for.
@@GUNDAMTIME You would lose all resource stars, but I didn't have that many. I didn't understand how they were applied randomly until I saw your video!! Thank you
wow thank! I've been wanting to reset cause of the silly mistakes I've made, I've never bought any in game stuff, but only acquired 27 in game stars.. but on silly things like thermal scanner.. had 4 stars on it.. but thats one thing I'd never sell, I mostly get for late items and its such a waste especially when you start over. not worth at all lol
Hi 😊 i agree with everithing but one thing you said... i think it is better to get the lowest Managers and forge them together... i got 5 times 4 stars mining with an additional 1.1 to all mining
Just my oppinion 👍 good video
Best to get the lowest levels early. Promote the mine rate ones to lv 3 and hope you get smelt speed. Once you have a 3-star Mine rate/Smelt speed you should be buying higher managers.
I'd rather have 6 1-star mine rate managers (300) than 1 3-star cargo/speed manager (300).
But things like smelt speed. Level 3 is 5%, level 4 is 10%, level 5 is 20%. 10% smelt speed is worth a ton.1 thermal scanner, 4 advanced batteries, and 8 laser torches. That's like 15 hours in just creating the final pieces, not counting crafting all the minor pieces.
If you had a 4-star mine rate/Smelt. If you only rolled 1-stars it would take you 16 recruits (800 energy) to get 1 3-star. After 64 recruits (3200) to get 1 4-star. It would take 192 recruits to get enough to promote the 4-star mine/Smelt.
So if you wanted to buy the lowest recruits and upgrade your 4-star. It would cost 9600 energy.
You can get a 4 or 5 star manager for 500 energy. 3 4-star managers would cost 1500.
Even if you rolled all 3-star managers. (Which you won't) that's 200 energy per 4 star. Cheapest you could ever upgrade a 4-star would be 600 energy. That's never going to happen you'd have to hit a 5% 16 times in a row.
Anyways TLDR. Upgrading is important and it's more cost efficient with higher educated managers. But starting out and finding good managers is important. Buy public until you want to upgrade a good manager you have.
I meant Craft
I reset every morning. Get 1000-1500 credits every time. Depending on how much time I spent upgrading throughout the day. Slowly getting up there. Right now I am working on the lounge room on the mothership. It gives galaxy credit rewards. At level 28 the cost for next level is 8830 credits. So it takes some time. And only gives + 0,05 X for that upgrade. Don't expect this game to go fast. It won't. But it's a good idler. I really like it. Been playing since 2021.
And yes, don't waste time on tournaments until you get somewhere. But do the weekly star hunt where you get 24 hours to get as far as you possibly can. I get 6-8 stars, again depending on time spent. Resource stars can really speed you up. But they are random. Which is the worst! Fix it! Let me place them!
Anyways, good game, try it :)
PS. Playing for 20 mins, then resetting, is the fastest way to credits, but it's 20 minutes non-stop upgrading, and then 20 minutes more etc etc. I don't have that much time. Which is why I settled on 24 hour reset.
I love the lounge. It's been hugely helpful.
@@GUNDAMTIMEWhat is a good level for Lounge?
for anyone who would like to get very up there in the game, it has a fantastic discord server and there is always someone there to help answer any questions or tid bits about the game.
oh and about the resource stars, for planets its not 5-7 you can go up to planet 16, it has a base pool of the first 7 ores and alloys, and the first 5 items. this is to make it so people cant only get copper, iron and lead stars for example, so gold ore, gold bars and glass are as high as you want to go for maybe the first 2 months of gameplay.
you are wrong. The Base Star Pool is 5 Ores, 5 Alloys and 5 Items. (Alluminium ore, Alluminium Bar and Glass).
the Gold thing (755) was a earlier farming strategy for Baby stars while the game had a bug that allowed it to get them on early items only even if you unlocked further.
so you can unlock to planet 11.
also, The Energy Cells are well worth it. thats ont 0.02% its 2%
and the Ship Beams are a calculation Change. You still need to level speed. and you want to avoid getting More ore on the planet as you can transport at all cost. The Planet needs to empty out to 0 every cycle. That is because the Asteroid Value is calculated by the Base-Ore Value you get back to the Mothership and planets that are not cleared are excluded from that calculation 100%. so you weaken yourself on that one
@@MadmonkeyVDB actually ur double wrong when they added advanced robots they made it scale of anything you have unlocked previously, also the ship speed becomes much less impactful very quickly as you will quickly get more ship speed managers than you will all mine rate managers which drastically outweighs them because ship speed gives double the multiplier of mine rate for secondary boost, its not that it isnt worth putting your cells into it, there are simply better options especially crafting in the early game. ive since quit playing because i was bored (i just get on to win a plat tournament by doing basically nothing and then get 300 cells of progress which is literally nothing (by literally nothing i mean its putting 1 level into an upgrade that gives me basically no progress anyway since im already winning every tournament i join, so i lost interest)
@@DearIeyWell my dad can beat up your dad 😝
Love your videos, subbed for soo long! ❤
Thank you! 🩷🩷
Would be great if you did a guide for the fastest and highest place you can get in the 24 hour challenge. Thanks!
Good idea!
Hey Andrea I have a question about Eatventure
How long would you say it took you to get your first ultimate
I don't even remember, honestly.
I just started, and I can't for the life of me (On Android) to figure out how you set it to incoming and only autosell a threshold, there is no option for me, it just says "Auto Sell Active - Tap and hold resource to deactivate" and it just sells everything.
From what I can tell, it doesn't become available at first. It wasn't an option for me either, in the beginning.
It's an option in Challenge mode. Once I unlocked it there, I could use it in my regular galaxies.
I just unlocked the auto sell percentage of incoming feature now.. I did no extra challenge or anything.. It came when I started my 5th galaxy..
It's also given me the event star ship and the probe hangar..
It's possible doing challenges or something may unlock it earlier? I don't know..
Also the station appeared after I sold my 1st or 2nd galaxy..
Mine will only run for 2 hrs overnight. How do you get it to extend that time? Mine a has a "battery" screen that shows how long it was idle.
It’s one of the mothership rooms
I leave my screen on and let the game go. I put my phone face down so the shine doesn't bother me, and I keep it plugged in. You should be able to adjust your phone settings so the screen doesn't go to sleep if you don't want it to.
With backup generator mothership room it's increasing max idle time
@@GUNDAMTIME I did that last night and found my phone had turned off due to "overheating" lol. don't think it's viable for me :(
@@rustylittle7356 oh, sad!!!
Thx for the video. How often did you sell your galaxies on and on until you tried out going to late game? Greetings from Germany
I'm still doing that - selling between 12 million and 1 billion. It's still helping the game move faster. My most valuable galaxy was the last tournament. It ended above 300b. But I've actually liked selling faster. It's getting me better rooms on the mothership.
get the lounge, at some lvl it gives more credits than your basic when u sell a galaxy. (my lounge is 24 other rooms are around 15 )
spend energy cells for the credits things in the space station or only to get there.
i dont care for the stars,
when i start a galaxy i spend all money into mining the 1. planet, set everything to autosell (and sell all ore) and push mining to 12 speed and cargo to 10 ,then buy planet 2 ,do the same thing ,buy planet 3 then 4 , with all 4 planets at 12/10/10 i disable autosell and start the skiltree. ( now after some month of playing im up to 16/14/14)
Lounge is indispensable. Mine is at 26 currently. Not high enough, but I haven't been focusing on it as much as other rooms lately.
If there was one piece of research permanently, I'd choose Bottleneck Optimization. what would you choose? Also thank you so much for the video it has been a huge help, that led to comments and folks your comments have helped me better play this game too thanks all.
I'd probably choose the same one. It would be nice to have that info available the whole time, but having it wouldn't take away from the research tree.
You're welcome! I've learned a ton from the comments too. It's been helpful.
This game has more depth than thought 😮😮😮
Right??
do you have tips or recommandation for approaching tournaments for the first time?
Mainly just try it and see how it goes. I'd recommend only using boosts during tournaments too, but only if you won't get a reward otherwise. (Tournaments are sometimes very difficult and competitive, and using boosts won't do enough to get caught up, so it's a waste.) The best way to do tournaments is to just do it and decide if it's worth it or not.
@@GUNDAMTIME how is the galaxy value calculated? I feel like investing the mining is the one that seems to have the highest impact.
Realy you helped me alot thank you
You're welcome. 😊
Awesome video.
great vid. thanks
Thanks!
Please make a video on what the most efficient way to do a long game would be! Like for tournaments
Love this suggestion! Thank you. 🥰 (It might take a bit - I'm working 60 hour weeks right now.)
For the rooms im guessing the mine rate and ship speed to upgrade first until they get expensive then do the other rooms?
I tend to focus on mine rate, then I upgrade the cheapest of the other two. Speed and cargo. I like having speed high, though. The beam is less eye clutter than the ships going back and forth and the ore counting.
it has a lot of different rooms. 1 of them can increase your afk time. i prefer to stack that lv to my sleeping time. If u get higher in the game, your rover can do missions, at them u can collect ressource stars too. depends on which planet he will scan. i think u need something like planet lv 20 for this missions, but im not sure. it also has a room for higher galaxy credit output, which i think is worth too.
Early Mining / Speed / Cargo are all very very very cheap, so absolutely buy up all the cheap upgrades - any upgrade is going to be valuable if it costs very few credits.
I have four five star managers. It doesn't seem worth it to upgrade for one six star manager. What do you think? The upgrades are not exponentially better
Don't upgrade. Wait until you have enough five star managers left over to fill all your manager slots. (Or tons of really good four star ones. Mining primary and craft or smelting secondary.)
Hi,
Greetings from India. I level the three parameters to the same level, e.g. mine rate 10 speed 10 cargo 10. Then I add 10 to each one everytime.
Should I stick to that or adopt your approach? I see that your cargo and speed is a lot lower than your mine rate.
Also, what device is the best one to play it on?
upgrade the speed to the lowest lvl required to support mining, i usually updrage mining by 1 lvl up until i start noticing unshipped ores accumulate, then i go for speed or cargo.
regarding device, it doesnt matter, just use on it works on
Yeah, I only upgrade shipping and cargo if they're not keeping up with the mining. It's a waste of money otherwise. And device doesn't matter, as long as the game runs.
You want maximum mining. Speed + Cargo only exist to transfer that mining. At low levels, you need equal amounts of speed + cargo, but they multiply by each other. So a planet may need 10 / 10 / 10. But 20 / 20 / 20 would mean more speed times more cargo - and be complete overkill.
Where I'm at with my passive boosts, I leave every planet at 21/6/11, because even small amounts of passive speed + cargo in the mothership rooms is plenty of speed + cargo, especially for early planets that are so close to the mothership that they hardly need any speed at all to deliver. As planets get further and further out, they'll need more speed to feel the same - and by then you have the tech t hat straight up tells you where the red/green dots are, and you just level mining until it stops being red.
@@Arcknight why do you have speed and cargo at different levels? isn't it worth more to keep them equal to each other (but usually lower than mining)
@@rustylittle7356 Because ship speed gets too high and becomes a "beam" and loses efficiency. But in the long run, I agree that this small savings is almost always worthless.
Hey I was wondering were the daily quest things are cause I can't find them
They're under the shopping cart.
Oh, you're probably not talking about the daily sign in bonuses. The quests are under the clipboard. It acts a bit glitchy, though.
@@GUNDAMTIME are they just called tasks?
I'm sorry but you're wrong regarding resoruce stars. They aren't assigned to any planets or upgrades.
They're assigned to a random item which you've unlocked or a material you've unlocked/behind mining.
Yup. I've since figured that out. The good thing about being human is I'm able to learn and move forward. It's okay to be wrong because I can update things in a future video. (And if you didn't notice from the video, I'm very new to the game.)
@GUNDAMTIME yeah you said you'd been playing a month or two, I've been playing the game for a week. I just wanted to comment this for you to maybe edit the video or leave in the description about that inaccuracy? If people reset and see those stars next to items they may get confused.
@@GUNDAMTIME I will say you do have a nice, calming voice to listen to, so thanks for that. Obviously there are parts where you stutter since you're a human and we all do it, I guess with more YT confidence or editing that'd be gone, I wish you the best!
Yes, resource stars are assigned to unlocked ores, alloys and items. If you just started playing this game, it might still be good to stick with the first few planets during challenges, because only the unlocked materials get the resource stars assigned to. However, that only works well for that purpose. Outside challenges and tournaments you'd better unlock as many planets and upgrade their mine rate as fast as possible to get your credits for the rooms faster. You still have to sell your galaxy about daily, though, but you will find that active play is rewarded more than idle play, so keep the game open if you're doing something else for a few minutes. The ad free purchase is recommended, but you'll have to play actively to benefit from it the most. Finally, waiting to spend 500 dark matter for a 5-star manager is recommended, but you'll want to have enough slots to have room for multiple of those, and it will require dark matter to purchase those as well. Also, the most powerful manager (preferably one with a mining rate bonus) should be assigned to the planet with the most valuable ore. The distance between that planet and the ship might be bigger, but the ore's value compensates for this if the most powerful manager is assigned to the ore's source planet. It doesn't help you with the resource stars assigned to the same ores after a challenge or tournament every time, but it does help you gaining more of those resource stars, as well as more credits and ad free money.
So, for resource stars, the game remembers what you unlocked in past galaxies when assigning things?
Yup. I hadn't unlocked as far as my second galaxy that I spent a month on until recently, and I was being given stars for those things all along.
@@GUNDAMTIME If only I knew... I have unlocked all ores and items...
Just started playing. My game only lets me idle for 2 hours max. After that, i dont think the game progresses until i open the app again. Is this a new feature, or will it go away once i get further into the game?
As you start buying and upgrading rooms in the mothership, you'll get longer idle time. (There's a room specifically for idling.)
Just starting out. Upgrading cargo and mining speed and yet the money it brings back goes up and then goes way down??
That's really weird. Is it still doing it?
Whenever I try to auto sell it never gives me the option to only sell incoming and set a percentage sold like you showed. Am I supposed to play through PC or something? I didn’t see and computer versions of the game.
It didn't give me the option either until recently. I'm not sure if it's an update that hasn't rolled out to everyone or if it's something that comes eventually, but it's been hugely helpful. I hope you get access to it soon!
@@GUNDAMTIME I found out through the discord that I need to sell my galaxy a few times first
This was nice. I had absolutely no idea about the auto sell.. they don’t tell you a dang thing about that. The only thing that is weird is that my auto sell just sells 100% and I can’t adjust it…. No idea why mine and hers would be different…
How many times have you sold your galaxy? It gets unlocked at some point. I only had 100% available for a while.
@@GUNDAMTIME yeah that’s what it was. Like one or two times after I sold I got it. 🤦🏽♂️
what rooms for the ship should i start buying first?
I don't know that it really matters. The best rooms for me so far have been Lounge, Dorms, Underforge, Forge, Workshop... Robotics. They're all good. 😂 You want to get your Robotics up to level four.
What happens if we change our date and time to past and access the event by which we can get ultimate we wants . Will it be danger for I'd ?
I'm honestly not sure, but personally, I wouldn't risk it.
They have anti-cheats in place for that, you’ll get banned.
@@akshayvaidya9958 what are anti chets ? If they really want to ban than they possibly did 1-2 months ago .
@@YashPrakash-i2j there is a anti-cheat, meaning that the game can detect it if you mess with the time settings or try to manipulate it in any way.
I love your video, and you have great pacing and good information. However, some of this information is kinda backwards.
Turns out, having the 'beam' for ship speed is a very BAD thing. A ship moving fast back and forth can get to almost 0.5s per delivery, and the beam is locked at 1.0s. The game then makes extra ship speed convert to bonus cargo, but its not a good exchange and kinda sucks. You want to avoid ship speed early on, especially for close planets.
Secondly, you say that mining rate is very valuable early on. It actually kinda isnt. You DO sell your extra ore, and thats where you get a lot of money. But you make about 100x more ore than you need, and you're really strapped with both Smelt speed, and Craft speed. Once you can smelt + craft, you can get research, and once you get all the research for your current planet / tier, you start making items to sell. The items are worth around 100x - 10000x as much as the ore. So you REALLY want your managers to give you global smelt and global craft speed. But the managers themselves also give a specific planet boost, you want THAT to be mining speed. So if every one of your managers gives you Mining Speed + Smelt, or Mining Speed + Craft, that would be ideal.
Then, you put your managers on your 'valuable' planets, and that personal mining rate is a huge payoff - but the planets that dont get a manager (which would have gained global mining rate) become worthless anyway. So if you've got 10 planets, and 6 managers, you don't even care about the first 1-4 planet's ore anymore.
Lastly, while "very early on" you would LOVE to have resource stars on early ores. That trick where you stay at 5/7 planets is pretty cool, because it kinda forces early ore to get resource stars. But the moment your overall craft / smelt speed / managers are decent, and you're ready for the new tiers - your old resource stars on old ores are also worthless again - you'll wish every one of your stars were on ANYTHING else. It takes a while to get there, but in the long run, it's really okay wherever those resource stars end up.
Let me clarify, ship speed is GREAT ... until it becomes a beam, haha. And since you're going to get some global ship speed, and have some ship speed managers (whether you want them or not) there's just not much reason to invest in even more ship speed.
Thanks for these tips. I've since figured out a bunch of them, but didn't know a couple of them. I use my videos to learn games, and post updates accordingly. There aren't hardly any straightforward trainings out there on the game. Not on the Discord server or the subreddit (or the link that frequently gets posted in both places).
Totally agree, I tried to find out more in those sources, and it’s just people talking about Arks - a trick that’s completely pointless until after you’re making debris scanners and subspace relays.
@@Arcknight it gives a slight drop when it becomes a beam but after that it really does not matter so much, all my planets beamed as soon as i opened them anyway

What is the best gear to get when you start Eatventure not the kbb laser guns and robot head
That's the best gear to work toward. You'll need it in order to get the best mythic gear. I would still use whatever gear from the robot head, kbb, and laser guns you have and work toward getting the rest of it.
I only just started playing how do i sell partial income when i click auto sell it just sells the whole stockpile and i cant set a percentage to sell.
From what I can tell, that's an option that opens up after a certain number of galaxy sales. I wish I'd known to pay attention - it just randomly became an option, and from what I've read, that's how it has gone for others too.
Are you still going to play Eatventure? 😅 I have watched your Quicktips and gameplay of it like 30+ times 😮😅❤
I still play weekly, but I also play other games too.
@@GUNDAMTIME Thank You! 😊🐣 Happy easter!
Your tip of only progressing so far to influence where your resource stars get allocated doesn’t work. At least not anymore. I only advanced as far as aluminium and I still got a resource star for iridium.
Maybe they've changed it? If you've never, ever unlocked iridium, then they've changed it. If you've unlocked iridium at any point of playing the game, even in previous galaxies, then that's what I'm referring to in this video.
Ive been looking for you in the tournaments. Im Theecaptainkirk
Oh, I may have seen you once. Maybe? I'll keep an eye out. I haven't been able to participate in the last two tournaments. I didn't have service for one of them while up in the mountains, and the other one, I was catching up on work deadlines because of the up in the mountains from the week before. 😁
Do you lose all your research when you sell your galaxy?
Are you asking about the research tree - the middle button? If so, yes. There are other upgrades that carry to the next galaxy.
Can I go past planet 7 in a tournament?
I think that's fine. The same thing still applies about unlocking early, of course, but tournaments are great ways to monitor progress.
Ok, thanks 😊

great video,❤, i wonder how much is the cheapest lounge . anybody know?
The lounge costs pretty much the same for everyone, as far as I know. It comes at a certain point as you purchase other rooms.

This one is a fun one too. 😊
Yeah.. Thank u.. I started it today onl6
I think it’s planets 1-11 that’s what I read elsewhere
When you're first starting out, planets 1-5 are best. It takes too long to get money for higher planets. But it doesn't take too long to be able to expand. I'm still finding that planets 1-7 are best at my level, though. (Going beyond that doesn't speed up my progress.)
This video saved me so much time and wasted resources
I so wish I'd come across the info much earlier!!
