I was in 8th grade, in a horrible cover band. We were in a Battle of the Bands and these guys won hands down. Great crowd participation when 20 punks rushed the stage and went crazy. Grand Haven, 1985 or so.
Heavy, grinding, sludge metal punk with fast thrash parts. Tuned so low that I'd bet the guitar strings hung like rubber bands. Killer, depth-charge, grunt that sounds as fresh today as it did in ' 86. Kablooey, sir.
Feeling nostalgic. I went to Spring Lake High (sister city to Grand Haven, MI) in my 10th grade year 1983-1984. I was one of only a handful of "Metal Heads" promoting Music along the lines of Black Sabbath...Judas Priest...Etc. At the time "Hardcore Punk" was the prevalent thing and I lost the battle. Kudos to all of you "Kool ade Kids" I have a greater appreciation for your talent and hard work. I remember a few house parties on the beach in Grand Haven. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything in a thousand years or more. Kurt Miehlke (aka Amy Jakubsysk's brother)
One very overlooked album that came out the same year as Post Mortem "Coroner's Office". There were definitely similarities between the two... With the punky thrash/almost death stuff mixed with doom metal.
Lol, i went to that show also. At the Elks Lodge in Grand Haven, Rendezvous afterwards. Oh man, O probably still have the fliers. I have a whole pile of fliers form there.
oh my gosh... so I did some research, and apparently, this band was one of (if not, _the) first_ band to blend thrash and doom metal! wowie zowie! And they do it so well!! \m/
I bought this after writing to the band. Does anybody know if Common Cause has any copies of the CD? My vinyl copy is worn-out . Please reply here if you read this. Many thanks per James G. Simmons.
Common Cause was a German label that died long ago, man. Your best bet for getting this CD is through a local record store or if you find it for a reasonable price second-hand online.
Seeker's Odyssey thanks for the reply They were really great guys. I was living in Indianapolis, IN @ the time and they sent me the LP and a bunch of cool stickers. I'm lucky I recorded it on a high quality Maxell II. tape so I still have that and still listen to it but, I hope I can find the CD before it breaks as well . J2K2 also came to Indy and played a show. Again , I appreciate the reply......Greg Simmons .
Some label called Bleeding Ear who seem to have put out only this LP. I'd guess this is possibly because it was a label created by the band to release their album? Not sure.
I saw them in about 85, in a Karate studio near Myrtle Beach. I had never seem anything like this. It was cool thanks!
Reissue CD/LP and CS coming soon.
Just ordered! 🤘

The 1st time I heard this I got to high and when I left my brother house early 1980s in a non white part or Portland I was on point!

Yep, and even more like Dream Death... made me want to dig out my "Coroner's Office" LP though!
I stumbled on this after thinking about what came of my JimJones t-shirt of 30 years ago - from a GrandHaven show around '86

If you haven’t already gotten a copy… Dark Descent records is repressing this. Should be up for sale this Friday I believe.
Anyone know what label this was originally released on back in 86'?
