there are definitely differences betw the stock screw and the tone enhancers but the differences are really subtle, and i don't think that anyone is gonna be able to tell whether or not you have a klangbogen/BooStar attached to your horn or not without actually looking at it. Bottomline is if you have a great sound then that's what's gonna draw the audience, AND if a tone enhancer helps you in your quest to develop ur best sound, then by all means go ahead and use one :)
@@VirtuosityMusicalInstruments I use a Cory Brother's Tone Tablet in the little space of my lyre holder and i could FEEL that difference immediately. It was really obvious to me. As for sound wise at least to me, the tone became stronger with more bite as compared to it having more warmth with the stock screw. But I like a big bright sound so that works for me, plus the tablet is super discreet which is another plus point :)
@@thepianokid27 Nice! A lot of people who try them in our shop say the tone enhancers change the feeling more than the sound, so that lines up with what we've seen.
I honestly couldn't hear a difference but I don't think that's the point. It shouldn't change how you sound but should effect YOUR feel of the horn (exactly what you said). I bought one of those tablets that goes into the lyre hole on my Reference alto - it didn't change my sound but it did feel different.
Really eloquent presentation and no-nonsense considerations!
Klangbogen Matte. More in tune than the BooStar. Try Matt Vashlishan´s screws with interchangeable weights.
