Yes Donald I love these. Picture a mans ring with large round center and two side opals with some diamonds incorporated with matching pendant. Love the color on the left. Blue and Red my left, your right.
Donald I keep coming back to this video. I love these. For the BS pendant I sent you pictures of what would you recommend for that pendant. The opal is real, but has nothing like the beauty of these opals. The Jeweler has ordered my initials larger and I just don’t like the opal compared to my cross pendant that has lots of deep color and rolls different colors. I need a cool opal like this not so large it makes my neck sore, to put at bottom of pendant. After seeing your opals and cost, this could be a eye catching gem that would add the color to take it from mundane to beautiful and not cost so much. I only finishing up the last piece of Jewerly I have and while the current opal may cost more it just does not have the color these do.
@@PulitzerOpal Thank you for the reply. The first opal shown is not a back opal and I was trying to ask if those were treated and if so when. My family had a opal much like that opal, but larger. It was breath taken and we had it set in gold with a tree branch motif over the opal to protect it from any accidents. Came from Australia around 1930's. I know great gems when seeing them part by their settings. I know people that think KMart and tourism traps are just wonderful gems. It's hard for me to exspan to my friends those are trash gems or no real gems at all. I know very little about heat treatments and enhancements, it seems that would take years or decades to occupy all that knowledge.
@@PulitzerOpal I have one more question, how should I store and take care of the opals I have no that are finished stone not in settings? Those opals are not black opals, but like the first opal shown.
What would be the value of him doing the treatment of the Andamooka Matrix in an autoclave so the gasification of inclusions didn't pit the stone? Is that an actual valid idea?
Do you Sell these Opal stones or the completed pieces of jewelry if so how do I get in touch with you I have a feeling that you live in Texas if so that would be great for me
Donald, i recall u telling me about these. So beautiful. How can i send u videos of what i cut back in 2005. One now i wish I cut the way you do and I afraid to mess with it and like u input on how to set it better or if u could recut it for me. Probably u could polish it much better than I did. I also could send u videos of rough and maybe we could strike a deal. The one i just had mounted in December I always called a grey Opal looks like the Coober Pedy Ring stone in the silent movie. I love these better than the opal in my cross.
Pulitzer Opal know I like u. Must of gotten name messed up by watching one of his videos u always reply and I have u on my alerts. I even sent this video to my jeweler today. Sorry i called u the wrong name. Love your videos
I am not sure that I understand what you are asking for. If you buy a 3 carat (2.7 ratti) in a 14k gold setting, the cost could be as low as $125 or as high as thousands of dollars. It depends on the quality of the opal and the size and detail of the setting. (Adding diamonds increases the cost, for example).
I assume that you mean "light" opal to distinguish it from black opal. Light opal can range from $10 per carat (for white, almost colorless material) to $800 per carat for fine colorful crystal (clear) opal. Retail, you can expect to pay at least twice these prices.
I am sorry for the delay. Andamooka matrix costs about 10-20 percent as much as solid opal. Honestly, the market value of matrix jewelry is a moving target. These pendants are 14k gold and are large (average 40 cts). I could see a price between $700 and $2500. If it were real solid black opal, the price would be greater than $50,000 each. You would not have made a bad buy if you paid $3000 for the pendants in this video. (All opal prices are a "moving target" because of extreme variability in color, pattern and intensity; matrix opal is even more variable).
@@PulitzerOpal damnit !!! it would look good if you could do a free hangin round or square stone . Youre right though i never thought of that you dont wanna lose it 😂🍻

Do you have a resource available for settings. I really spend a great deal of time cutting, sanding and polishing opal and jade. Thanks!!
