I thought the point was playing even / odd vs non even/odd decks? This is just even vs odd and we have no idea if they’re good decks.
I acknowledged that when I was showing the tweet in the beginning, although going back I guess I wasn’t as clear as I thought I was.
We didn’t do that exact idea, we thought this would be more fun, but I still wanted to credit the person responsible for the idea.
I dig that idea but at the same time I still think it’s a cool idea to try and build odd/even decks with the restrictions of using only standard cards (outside of Baku and Genn)

I'd really like to see the the follow-up galakronds. I think it might be cool to also maybe have a retrospective and deck comparison talk surrounding the decks you'd built and how you went about it w/ regards to making galakrond feel worth the slot tax.
Double sleeving clunkiness can be mitigated a lot by pressing them or putting them in a tight deckbox a few days before you plan to play w/ them. Then, obv, shuffle them a decent bit as well so that they're not slick & slippery anymore.
Thats actually my exact process for the sleeves 🤣 gonna try to get a good chunk of shuffling in tomorrow

Honestly i still hate baku and genn but this video sorta convinced me that they would be as playable as justicar is now. Still now sure if i want them to risk it but it was an interesting watch

I think the odd warrior will definitely use Heavy Plate and Fizzle
And even Warlock seems to be a very competitive deck, but it's a shame that it's not covered in this video

I'd be curious if next time you do this, if any outcomes change significantly by adding a similar rule Rarran had on discover where you have to pick an option that's in standard, or close to it if not possible from the given pool.
I dont think its worth doing that, the pool is so big that youre gonna get offered a lot of Wild cards, and *having* to pick something specific takes away the point of discover, better to just take it as it is.
I don’t think that’s a good idea it just adds a random negative element to discover effects. It also still can’t control non-discover rng effects.

It’s really interesting to see how tame most of the decks are. Really the only good ones were Odd Warrior and perhaps Even/Odd Pally. But in general they were just worse then the regular standard versions.
Pretty sure he warned us not to look at that play 🤣
I think Even Warlock was good too but Djinn got draw order’d/maybe Brawl warrior would be a counter? I was thinking about how jank some of them felt after this, but I think thats actually consistent with the last time they were in Standard. Each of them had a deck in 2-3 classes at a time, felt really good in some and why bother in most others.
@@MartianBuu yea good point about evenlock. It’s not that far off from what it would be in Wild anyways, so many traditional even warlock cards are in standard currently.

That was fun! =) Thank you both for that. Is there any chance you would be interested in making deckbuilding videos? It's one of my favorite things ever. I miss the old days of Firebat's Deck Doctor series and no one ever scratched that itch since. I have no doubt something in the same vein but Marshie style would be amazing.
Genn and, mostly, Baku wasn't necessarily bad because it promoted decks that were super strong broken, but because it limited design space, since you had to mind all cards if they were odd or even, but also it made so everyone only played with those strategies in mind.
