    My wife Diane is disabled plus we have a little Shi Tzu that requires doors. We have been waiting about a year for our FUV that will have doors and the luggage box. Was so happy to see the dog in the back seat with his safety harness. We are like many who want something more like a motorcycle without gas and safe to drive. So far we have purchased the little trailer to tow in back of our motorhome plus a storage shed to keep it out of the hot Florida Sun. Our roof solar panel will keep it always ready to drive with a full charge.

    The red Roadster belongs to the CEO. You can see, on the right side, he has a sidecar so his dog can come along too.
    They are staring to build a plant to start mass production the end of the year. They will also expand their rental business at resorts too.
    All in and long in Arcimoto.

    Just got back from grocery shopping using my FUV. Here in sunny central Florida, it is a warm 70 degrees. Perfect FUV weather. As for snow driving, which I have done, I suspect that with two front wheels driving the FUV should do just fine. As for really deep snow, I wonder if you can put chains on the front wheels?

    They need to do three things, lower the price, increase the range and then also make an ICE version for people that want to go on long trips. They could sell a ton of them if they just did these three things.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 роки тому

      No. Absolutely not, for two very solid reasons. The company is committed to zero emissions vehicles. Period. And long trips that are not essential for business are no longer sustainable. Soon the carbon taxes will make it unaffordable for all those who don't care about the environment. Take a bus or train or just don't go on 'drives' any more. Those days are over. I had not left my town even once in the last 7 years so my FUV has more range and power than I want. Wishing for a lower price is silly.

    • @HimynameisJermHicks

      No kidding they really don't go very long hopefully I can find something similar with way more range.

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 роки тому

      @@HimynameisJermHicks Long range is exactly the thing the company is not pursuing. They do not want to enable continued unsustainable behaviors and I would not have bought one if that was their values. Pretty sure they don't want a battery that would exceed 120 miles. In 2022 it is 12 years past the deadline after which all personal car abuse was deemed unsustainable and damaging to the biome. 'Road trips' for fun are obsolete unless you do it on a bicycle. So are long commutes and pleasure drives. We now know we must take a bus or train for those or stay local. Only commercial vehicles should have long range as a goal. The range of my FUV is much greater than I need or want. I have not left my town in 8 years except for two dental surgeries. If I could buy a version with less range and a lower top speed I would have preferred it. The high speed roads we demand are suffocating nature. Change or die.

      This is not a car, it is an autocycle so felexible thinking is required to comprehend the difference. Half a billion motorcycles have no doors or side windows or roofs. The Arcimoto has a wrap around windshield joining the roof to keep us dry. I stay totally dry in rain while it is moving, not one single drop comes at me from the sides and there is a roof gutter system too. We buy custom fit storage covers if we have no sheltered parking.

They still do not get as wet as a motorcycle passenger thanks to the roof. I have never taken a passenger and I removed my rear seat for cargo space. The Deliverator and pickup model also carry no passengers so the total use profile means less than one quarter of use involves passengers in the rear in rain. Not a deal breaker, as demonstrated by the real demand and years of pre-orders. The FUV was never marketed as a car replacement for all uses, just 90% at most. So all nit picking is bullshit based on a false premise. Snowmobiles are not worthless just because they can't be used in Florida. How many times have you attacked snowmobile videos because of that?

    • @popeyegordon
      @popeyegordon 2 роки тому

      @@tonytiger8248 It is stable as a motorcycle but not vulnerable to wipeouts due to loss of traction or a tire blowout. The steering is extremely tight and responive, it takes a while to be fully adjusted to it. When you jiggle the handlebars of a motorcycle at speed, the wheels compensate while it stays on track. When you jiggle the handlebars of the FUV it tosses you back and forth in the harness instantly, so over correction is not as forgiving as it is on a 2 wheel motorcycle which relies heavily on the gyroscopic effect of its wheels. I have had mine at 75, my mechanic hit 84 mph in mine. Stability with 3 wheels and the wider stance of the FUV has a different definition. Without doors and windows to catch crosswinds, it is stable when a truck passes and the FUV has a very low center of gravity. Wet pavement makes a motorcycle far less stable and more vulnerable - the FUV's three car tires offer a larger traction contact with the road. The most common way to wipe out a motorcycle is in a turn when you hit gravel or oil. In that same situation the FUV maintains enough traction with two tires up front.

Passengers in rain represent less than one quarter of all use. The Deliverator and pickup model carry no passengers and you can't prove that a passenger is always present when the FUV is driven in rain or that every rain is heavy.
