The real issue is that politicians dont think like law enforcement, and thats a problem. Law enforcement runs the prison in Knox County, but who would WANT to work there if the pay isnt commensurate with experience ? Sometimes a bond vote to pay for something that benefits everyone in the county is better than something that benefits a few. Public safety/law enforcement isnt one to cheap out on, period. If an answer isnt found soon, youll see law enforcement officers that work in Knox County move to Florida where Governor DeSantis is giving $2,500.00 bonuses for those working in law enforcement to do their jobs there........
