wow...this song SO rare to find!! I first heard it on an Indian radio programme in Toronto, Canada when I was a kid in the 90s (back when audio cassettes were still the norm haha) so I recorded it and used to love listening to it over and over. The cassette has since disappeared so I tried everything over all these years to find the song online. All I knew from that recording I had made was that the singer was Sadhana Sargam and the lyricist was Kalyanji-Anandji (according to the radio presenter whose commentary after the track I managed to memorise after hearing it so many times). As things became widely available online, and knowing how Indians are prolific UA-cam uploaders, I was certain I'd find this track years ago. Anyway, I'm ecstatic I have finally found it after soooo long. Thank you for uploading!!
This dancer's changing the mood of the song,rather some Bollywood’s Kathak dancer should have done this video,Sadhna Sargam is a Bollywood style classical singer & not Parween Sultana or Girija Devi.aise gaane par to unhiko nachhana chhahiye jo Bollywood style expression deti ho.Bollywood & stage concerts are 2 different things.
@@shrikalamanjari5964 I read ur msg but didn’t want to spoil my new year eve,well if u really understand music then u should realise that a Bollywood composition of just 6min has to be covered with full energy in a weightless body almost with full expression on each line.She’s hefty.Hema Malini or Asha Parekh or Vijayanthimaka’s style & figure is different from the typical concert dancers,more flexible & swift & can swing in the air

I too remember, that was some national type of award ceremony. Madhuri Dixit live performed kathak on this melodious song. Meeta Vashisth was anchoring that show. I have that clip on my laptop but unfortunately laptop is not working now.
I had listen this duet in 1985 in a doordarsan programme and there after these two name was very familiar in the society. But sad sonali not found regularly there after. Sadhna could have equet with lataji.❤❤❤
She should ve performed on typical classical singer’s grammar based drut like Parween Sultana or Kishori Amonkar or Ashwini Bhide or Kaushiki as she seems to be a typical concert or shows performer.This is a Bollywood based drut with lots of music & limited swar vistar & taan.Even Pt Birju Maharaj kept a thick border between high energy,flexibility,camera facing facial expression & the long ground facing stage performances.
