Sugar Rush Ride is very TXT imo. The way SRR kinda summarizes some of the elements they have used before, it literally went up to my fave title tracks next to Runaway. It has the upbeat, the switches, the dark undertones, the melodic pre choruses, the surprises, experimental (all which TXT have done before) plus the new element they used for the first time, the antidrop-- the goal of this song was to combine refreshing/cool and sexy which they exactly did. The sugar rush ush part imo is very important as it stops you from falling completely in with the anti drop. The way this song is about getting tempted and resisting it (which is why you hear Huening Kai singing "get away!"), the sugar rush ush part is holding the listeners back from experiencing the anti drop fully, is depicting exactly that.. Resisting the temptation which is what the whole album is about. Tbh I know Jino is not gonna like this. I think I've had a good idea of what stuff he would and would not like based on his previous music reactions and that's fine. Much like how some people would dislike a famous song while others love it, it's just the same. Everyone has their own musical preferences.
Farewell Neverland is the song I highly recommend to everyone. Its the song BANG PD specifically said was amazing. The members loved it even before release!

I'm surprised you liked the antidrop part because it was the most disliked part of the song when it was released. I'm really glad you like it. I think that part adds a different atmosphere to the song. Also, I respect your personal taste and dislike, but for me, it is in the top 3 of TXT's best title songs. I like it a lot. And I love the Suga rush-hha shaa part that most people don't like. Even when I turn off the song, I keep singing that part. I remember back in the days (like 20, 30+ years ago), Westerners go to Asia to promote, like Hollywood movies. Back then, in Asia, Japan was the 1st market (biggest and richest in those days, like when China was still closed off and underdeveloped)... Taiwan as well (SK wasn't on the radar back then, and I am less familiar with South East Asia at the time). And it's was a KNOWN FACT that those variety shows are really cringy and do some crazy things, especially for foreign guests, to experience that culture shock (sometimes I wonder if they made it even more "extra" for foreign guests?). I remember some parody or jokes by someone, referenced those experiences with Japanese variety shows. Anyways, point is, it's not just a SK thing, but in most cultures, both eastern and western and any others. US has our share of loud and cringe shows, too, both variety and reality (and shitty movies and songs). Just those might be of lower brow and not make their way to other regions thru more established mainstream media, they'll not pick those shows to export. But in this internet age, there is more and easier exposure, and it's interesting seeing different sides of a culture, not always the perceived public persona, but local cultures. Every culture has our own versions of ajusshi and obasan. Haha... Anyways... I get the 2nd hand embarrassment, esp. in the older days, especially when you're trying to fit in, you don't want to show certain sides. I did not feel this txt album. I haven't even checked out all of it cos the lead singles and recs popping up scared me off. I'm also disappointed they're going back to typical kpop. The uniform outfits, choreo , music. It's like are they in 2023? Are they young? Are they international? Some of these things don't translate on a global stage. Can't they just dress like their peers, vibe to the music, do choreo that's meaningful like they did with their debut albums or like bts. Have music that's about something not saying deep but just something you can follow. I'm so disappointed. Unless they are saying we are truly idol and want to spread the idol world. I really thought they were different.
Listen to the other tracks, its good. Srr is my lowest ranking in this album, so you might enjoy the other songs, like i did. The other tracks is so far from SRR, if thats not your style.
The whole album literally tells the story of “the lost boys” or the story of growing up. It’s the number one album world wide for weeks and is charting insanely well everywhere even in Korea

But TXT has been telling a story in their album songs since their debut. It deals with the problems of youth. First of all, you need to understand the lyrics and story of the song. And how many albums have been released since the Lovesong era, everything became a bit pessimistic. And now they did cb with a little fresher side of music. I think this was necessary. They also got very good responses. Of course there will be people who don't like it. But I really recommend you to look at the other songs in the album. It’s my personal favourite and it’s very ballad type but the song is packed with emotions

Because one of TXT's Bside tracks "Tinnitus" is most definitely NOT typical Kpop and it's probably something I've never heard in Kpop before, too. Would also recommend "Farewell, Neverland". And their english track "Devil By The Window" has a Billie Ellish vibe, too.
