I learned a new Russian word today -- "marakuyya" is passion fruit. That is the same word for passion fruit in many other Slavic languages, as well as Spanish and Portuguese. Excellent job, Sam.

That's impressive. When I think of St. Petersburg, Helsinki or Tallinn, and all of Karelia, I think of lots and lots of blueberries and lingonberries.

Can you also possibly film the right side of Vladimir? There are old style apartments and I hope that one day you’ll (not knowingly) film my mother in your videos. Dear Gabi, as a Russian dad of two Russian daughters I dare saying that not only regional centers like Vladimir (where Sam is living) but every little Russian town has at least two (or more) "shops of beauty". I live in lesser town of Vyborg and my youngest daughter is working in "manicure saloon" and her senior sister works in StPetersburg as a dentist assistant. So I know for sure that russian women are always ready to spend bit more money to improve their beauty! And I love it.

You should have interviewed the ice cream girl. She was very cute. I find it remarkable how many people are willing to speak with a perfect stranger and answer questions. I feel in the US, you would largely be ignored. People are rude here.
No, the people are not rude in the US. They simply fear strangers, and with good reason. Russians tend to be on the rude side, though, despite being nice and friendly.

Its interesting for me too. But difference is easy to say about 60 degrees. I suppose it was MAX 70 this year. -35 in January +35 now.

Dating girl is not like marrying her. My Russian mother (and grandma, too) always taught me not to get a girlfriend confused when I find one. If you adore the girl then honestly and respectfully propose to marry with her - that's what they always told me.

This was a hard day to do this social job. Great job. 🎉 Vladimir is provincial town. I dont think there are lot of women with experience in relationships with foreigners, except foreigners from Caucasian and Asian republics.
