- Some movies that are shown on network television have deleted scenes with them that are not available anywhere else. Coneheads is one of those movies that had deleted scenes only for network television. This was recorded off of TBS in October 2004 and all current showings of Coneheads on network television do not have any of these deleted scenes.
Most deleted scenes are usually the best ones in the movies and actually tie parts of the movie together but I can see why they deleted this. It starts the movie off on a dark ominous tone when the film is actually a lighthearted comedy.
I wish this scene wasn't deleted. This would've made sense with why Beldar and Prymat were sent to Earth.

It's always the scenes that explain a lot that get deleted.
They shouldn't have deleted this scene! You see the cylinder thing in the beginning when the star ship crashes and you don't know what it is.
He looked like a liar when he told Beldar that the earth weapons are useless.
I saw this movie on NBC one time and I remember they included this scene

The conehead instructing Beldar looked creepy when they showed him up close.
Yeah that's Phil Hartman's character Marlaax. A character that has driven me to insanity because of his giant importance in the lore, and then barely having any scenes
Someone was talking about a scene before the fireworks show where Beldar dives down to the ship and then puts it in some kind of rocket for the homecoming festivities. Anyone remember this?

why did they delete all the best scenes!? fuck the running time, make the damn movie long!!!
I can see why they chose to delete this. The tone of the scene seems out of sync with the rest of the film, and there's a bit too much nonsense alien language.

Ph1lb Don't know about the DVD but the one you can rent at Amazon does not include the cut scenes. Mebs!
Hopefully for the 30th anniversary (which is next year) they'll release a new DVD with the deleted scenes included.
