I will recommend getting a tractor and loader instead of the skid steer, has a much better log grapple, and you can put a weight on the back to offset the logs
I saw a video where someone saved the game and cut up the same logs to different lengths with the harvester, sold them and reloaded. 6m lengths paid the best money by substantial amount
So... i actually run heavy equipment for a living. All types and sizes. In my irl experience, kubota smashes any other smaller equipment. Next best would be the newer case machines. (As far as smaller stuff) those new hollands. Credit where its due.. they are smooth and operator friendly, but.. they have no "haul azz, overpower" mode. Can become very limiting irl. Caterpillar makes a pretty decent little machine as well, but kubota still best for the minis.. got my experiences in the medium weights and heavy weights too.. but they definitely differ from the mini stuff. (Last 2 sentences are for the haters that may pop up)
I had the very same thing happen to me as I was harvesting spinach. I thought it was probably due to running the game at 0.5 time but it may be a glitch as well. I was on Riverbend Springs.
I wonder if you can use the log trailer you have to tow behind it for now till you can get the trailer that goes with it. I believe 5 and 6m logs get you best money too at the mill.
I never tried hooking it up, but I have tried hooking up other trailers to the truck and it won't connect. I think it has a unique connection that only works with the one specific trailer.
I would love it if the New Holland and Kubota had a baby so I could get the power from the Kubota and arm depression from the New Holland. It would be the ultimate skid steer.
This is a non mod series and Uber realistic isn’t it? Otherwise I’d be pushing you towards the Quickie mod I’ve been shouting about for weeks as it has the straps. It’s very unrealistic visually is the only thing, in reality it could work though Still loving this series bud
I notice that you are chipping the lumber. Doesn't the game account for the branches you took off when chipping? Enjoying the lumberjack series. Another query. What is the object of the game? Is it to make money or to get the biggest gear? Is this some male obsession about size? I've watched several other FS channels and I'm still not sure.
The branches count against you when selling directly to the lumbermill, but if you chip the tree you get the same amount of woodchips whether you clean the tree or put it in with all the branches still intact.
Not trying if log trailer can connect to truck is a missed opportunity. Also, Kubota is better than NH, less twitchy, goes higher and can handle heavy trees without tipping
With the Kubota being less useful than the New Holland I wondering why you didn’t just buy a small tractor with a front loader instead. You could then just use that to load instead
The skid steer loaders are much cheaper to buy which is why I went with them. Also, I need to have my tractor run the woodchipper so I cannot load with it at the same time, has to be a separate piece of equipment. I wish the Kubota was better :( It does have its place though. It is very useful for just moving piles of logs around the Yard.
too bad you bought a Komatsu harvester. I think it would be much better to buy a Volvo Excavator with all the accessories, you would have a greater variation of use from planting trees, harvesting them to removing stumps or loading processed logs. maybe next time
Bro u make big progress every time and i ❤ it
Great progress!! Nice to see the progression through the levels
Thanks, it's been a fun ride so far!

That’s a good idea, I will definitely look into that for the future!
Lol I just said the same thing. Those skid steers are great for small jobs but tha kubota really isn’t enough of an upgrade to warrant that price
I saw a video where someone saved the game and cut up the same logs to different lengths with the harvester, sold them and reloaded. 6m lengths paid the best money by substantial amount
I lowkey feel like the wood chips would still be more profitable than selling the lumber direct even in the offseason
Yep... I agree. I don't want to give too much away but the next video is absolutely brutal.
Yeah the Kubota really needs a hydraulic boost. Its really slow to get to full height.
💕 love your videos man
6 meters is the optimum length for selling, but I'l not sure they fit on the truck though.

I wish the Kubota in game was as good as you describe it in real life 😭
The snow Is so busted. I had like a foot of snow show up mid July the other day. 😂
lol I had that happen to me a couple times on my riverbend springs playthrough.

@@Punnikin1969 i was on 5x, but I slept from Jan to June. Figured the game needed time to think about it. 😆
@@darksim73 I live in Michigan. Sleeping from Jan to June sounds like a damn good idea, but now I'm not so sure about that.
I think the truck you bought can actually extend if you look at the controls i think it’s x on pc

@hugz6559 yeah I kinda figured it would be like that. Keep up the good work I like your approach to doing your videos.
Thank you!
Only thing i know u gonna burn urself on is that u dont plant saplings. So you gonna sit with nithing to do
Sell that Kubota back and re-buy the New Holland! Money can't buy happiness, but returning items to get what you really want goes a long way.

Riedler, you only need to pronounce it like you would say Reedler

Still loving this series bud
It is, thank you! Honestly a very tough series to do. It takes a LONG time to get things done.
@ I’ve started my own version offline just for me, and dude you are kicking my butt, it takes sooooo long 🤣🤣 keep it up

@@hugz6559 Thanks. I was wondering.

Personally, I do not like the Kubota. Like I said in the video, the downward tilt angle just doesn't go far enough for me.
Iv found some times the snow bugs i saved and reloaded and snow was then gone

Still would have made more money chipping even with the lower prices

Thats a good point. I will have to remember that for season 2 when we start in a new place :)
Typical septic, not understanding the difference between feet and metres.
why not buy your own sawmill?
I limited myself to no productions at the start of the challenge. I may switch that up for season 2 though!
