Love this one. Chalk Outlines is very good but I think I like this one more. Enjoying Ren week ladies.
On "the bodies in the floor", The rest of that verse, in my opinion, points to it being a metaphor for the mind. The halls themselves being the mind, bruises on the walls are his emotional trauma, bodies in the floors are his memories, and their breathing, his inability to escape them. sort of a tale tale heart association. to finish that verse, he says 'I wish i could move, get up and walk right out this tomb.'. This part i'm mixed on, because he makes multiple references in his other works about his room being his tomb when he was gravely ill. And while i don't doubt that he for sure meant it as a double for himself, I also feel like he intended more to paint it as his depression, to both stay in theme, and to allow others to relate. He caps off the verse by questioning whether 'our saviors died too soon', and from the later reference, I think here he's referring to sort of a philosophical 'they weren't powerful enough', because he still seems to be paying for those sins. of course, it's all subjective, so really, everyone's own take is just as valid, and this is just how I interpret it.

I read in some comments previously that this was filmed in the Menai bridge over to Anglesey. That is the bridge that Joe sadly jumped from. Beneath it is the Menai straights, a treacherous, fast flowing area of sea between mainland Wales and Anglesey, it is famous for eddy currents and fast rips. Anglesey is the island where Ren grew up.
Ren has this ability to choose artists that he collabs with that are talented and who he has chemistry with. Every single one I've heard.
How people react to chinchilla. Can really make me feel a certain way. Rens said she is his musical sister. Also kids & even her label. Made her feel like she want pop star pretty. So if making her own outfits & nails. Make her feel confident & comfortable. I wish people wouldn’t drag her for that. Chalk outline, how to be me. & Her Fingers live. If she stopped today. Just those songs, would make her more successful than 90% of artist. If stacking just how perfect those are.
We weren't dragging her for that, Tova has a reason why she doesn't care for her, which is her thing not mine or Carole's thing. We don't know as much as I guess she does, but that's why I posted the clip in the video about her nails as being part of her character.
Lost my best friend in 2008 and this song hits hard. I totally get the feeling of forgetting how to be me. it's a very emotional and powerful especially when you can relate so much to it.

You really ought to check out Chinchilla's solo stuff - you are really missing out on some truly brilliant music and she is all about female empowerment. She has done a couple of interviews on YT (one with vocal coach/reactor Chris Liepe and she joined the Fairy Voice Mother live when she reacted to Chinchilla's song Fingers Live for Hunger TV)

I love Chalk Outlines but the Live version, for some reason the studio version doesn't hit the same for me. But of the 2 this one is the one I like better and the last part is definitely about Joe. I'm pretty sure that this song was written by both Ren and Chinchilla. I am a huge fan of Chinchilla and after listening to her songs with Ren plus watching their 2 busking videos together and then listening to all of Chinchilla's Solo stuff I can see why Ren calls her his musical sister (he says she's the female him, lol.) and I'm absolutely excited for the 2 collabs that Ren has posted about on IG between these 2 that we should be getting this year. As far as the nails and Chinny's hats and outfits (she makes most of her hats and stuff herself) are part of Chinchilla which is her stage persona because she says in real life she's very shy and her voice shakes when she gets nervous and that she fell in love with singing when she was a kid and played Belle in Beauty and the Beast in school and in order for her to perform she wears the outfits and the nails and stuff like armor to make her feel like she's a different person that isn't shy. I guess there's Daisy who is shy and nervous performing (her real name) and then there's Chinchilla with all of the swag and attitude that comes with outfits, nails, etc. I think a lot of artists do this, tho they may not be as open about it as she is.❤

Chinchilla only wears those nails when she's singing. It's just part of her persona. She did an interview explaining her nails. There not actually a daily thing.

I promise, no one is jealous we were being playful if anything, and I did explain the nails even put the clip on the video when she explained them from "The Voice".
The Jenny/Screech/Violet trilogy songs have nothing to do with Rens life. They’re based on an article he read about a couple of young people being killed, it’s all fictional to do with the human condition and desperation, really. How many kids that go into “care” (what the UK calls their foster/group home system) have problems with living successful productive lives after enduring years of abuse and neglect, and instead end up living the street life. Likely much like their biological parents who gave them up for a chance at a better life or died at the hands of their abusive partners.
We were talking about the Freckled Angels, Su!c ide, and For Joe, trilogy (I know it's not really a trilogy, but that was what we were referring too)
