One thing that a buyer always wants to know about the car power is that how much nm torque is enough for him where he will not feel lag.
When a car company says that their car produces 200nm torque @ 1500 rpm, a buyer cannot understand if this will feel lagging or will feel powerful. Number adds zero value to buyer's knowledge because he cannot understand anything from it.
A better way to understand this is given below.
Suppose I want a car that can move me at a speed of 60kms per hour immediately when I press the accelerator. Suppose I find this speed to be sufficient to overtake cars, I find it to be powerful enough.
To know whether my car do this or not, I will use the below method.
1 bhp = 75kgs moved at a speed of 1 meter per second.
If the same weight is to be moved at a speed of 60kms/hr then multiply 1 meter by 16.67.
So it becomes like this now.
16.67 bhp = 75kgs moved at a speed of 16.67 meters per second.
I have a car of weight 1000kgs so now 1000 divided by 75 is 13.33.
16.67 bhp multiplied by 13.33 = 222 bhp.
222 bhp = 1000kgs moved at a speed of 60kms/hr.
So if I have car whose weight is 1000kgs then I will need 222nm power to move it at a speed of 60kms/hr.
This will help buyers to filter the car list by their power without taking a test drive.
