How to make an environment:
First - Make the leaves
Second - Make the rest of it
Fifth: Blame it on the intern
at first i thought this comment was like a joke (like make shrek button) but ... no. it is 100% on point. lol
But you can't leave the leaves out of it, that will leave the whole scene leafless! ;)
0:10 These pictures are literally my favorite environment I absolutely love moss and to me personally it feels like there’s a mystical beauty theres a loving presence in these kinds of environment
Holy Balls That is Amazing 10/10
You could give us a little bit more Tips of how your scanned data could help with creating materials for our scans or something. And great video btw!
It's like concept art that came to life!
Really inspiring. Thanks for this.
Stunning environment! Awesome work, and a great video on workflow
Terrific job. Thanks for sharing.
Just wow! This is amazing looking work. Also, light is a very complicated being (well, it's simple, but there's just a lot of it), so you're "not realistic" lighting approach kind of simulates light bounce. It looks acceptable because there are enough trees and other things around that the eye assumes the light variation is bouncing off these many objects. At the end of the day, though, it doesn't really matter because it is art, and it's beautiful! I hope some day I can make stuff that looks this good!
LOOKS SO EPIC
Superb! It looks pretty real. Any chance on making a scene with a few animated props such as birds, or frogs maybe?
maybe a tutorial or reference where you got the basic theory of your lighting setup and how to.. you know. Leaf - gen?

Do you sell these scenes? This one is gorgeous!
Wow was that helpful. Not working with Unreal at all, but it still helped inform me on how to leverage Megascans, thanks for the video
I've love to see your system specs, and the framerate you got.
Amazing mate thanks
Im making a game about plants and forests and I want it to look similar to what you made only more colorful in terms of variety of colors. But in terms of lighting your scene is great I looked at it and thought that is a might fine forest scene.
Awesome work.
GG
so... where did the rest of the trees come from? Modelled by hand? how do you blend them in with the base?? - just cover with ivy?
Blended with Ivy and vertex painting for the base. All the trees in the scene are the same tree and I modeled the branches quickly in Maya.
Thanks, this was great!
TOP UE4
Awesome!
cool. its not too bad.
would love a screenshot of water shader up close ...
i enjoyed this.
BEST!!!
Any tutorials on how to make subsurface maps?
were can we see the full blueprint for the material setup that u were using?
What is that program called, where he does the 3d scan thing? :)
Hi Alex, it looks like AgisoftPhotoscan.
Oh ok, thank you :)
You could also try Autodesk 123D Catch. It's free (as in no need to pay money for it).
I will try it! Thx
Rip fps
If I buy a forest pack will I get any new forest assets?
so you did paint foliage on a tree?
How the plants stick the trunk?
good !!!!
cheers.
I use reference warrior for my images references...I got it free on gumroad.
What is the name of the page for reference???
6:04 which u use programe?
I want to play a game with such detailed and atmospheric environment. Can you recommend me smth?
Try The Last of Us on PS3 or PS4.
Red dead
Beautiful work. From your video however.. the performance looks to be totally shot :P I'd be interested to see how much you could keep in quality if this were to be optimised for VR
I think my biggest issue is picking the size of my landscape...
nice
5:05 what is this kind of diagram
A shader graph
this is how god basically create earth, we just a fucking bot..
