I've always chuckled about complaints of cheese in war games, when the history of war is filled with generals taking advantage of *any* weakness, shortcut, or outright cheat in order to win. I get the idea of wanting a fair & honourable fight as a player, but in real war that's not a consideration - only victory matters.
In real life you want to have a few casualties on your side as you can possibly manage, even if that means being "dishonorable". The only difference in Total War is that they aren't actual people, it's more of having to survive multiple stacks from the AI lol.
On the topic of rogue armies, Vashnaar can make a REALLY good ally if you can swing it. I remember once as Drycha I was moving into Athel Loren and Vashnaar had taken Montefort, so I traded him Parravon for an alliance. He went on to conquer Brettonia and I have no idea how far north he went, but he was well on his way of taking Telia by the time I was bored of the campaign lol Edit: For those who are not familiar, it is advised to kill Vashnaar asap if you can't get him as an ally because his garrisons are kinda rough lol
For the grail vow, i always pick the "defeat 5 lords in battle". It just means you have to defeat 5 armies completely, which happens very naturally. Because of that, the questing vow is really the only tricky one (i usually pick the sea one and go pick up some goodies on the sea if i can).
The heavy barding the definitely the best upgrade for questing knights. I get they are "supposed" to stay stuck in, but let's be real: cavalry is for charging MFers into the shadow realm.
Nahhh, if you know MA, you know he'll save up the 12K needed to buy Castle Bastonne, forget why he saved it all up, and then upgrade Blackstone Post to tier V so he can acquire his beloved "more cash."
I CACKLED at the fanatics against their own lines 😂 iland then seeing the piles of bodies and the deathcount 🥳

Like that time Rome used the infinite soldiers glitch against Hannibal

That would be the perfect trebuchet target. Much jam!
Maybe do some mountain-oriented conquest for the mountaineering frenchman? Just a thought, love the campaign :)
I do remember the other guy's name, but somehow my brain always refers to him as Bordelaux

Will he give Montfort routemarcher this episode?
Fanatics be very fanatical
Grung Zint might be a candidate to try and buy off the AI to complete the province.

The damn lighting on that map was insane. The massive pendulum shadow was very annoying.
