I've been enjoying your videos. Which steam cleaner/mop/scrubber would you suggest for a small home with ceramic tile and medium depth grout. Thanks much and take care!

      I would go with a Dupray Neat or Neat+ ($100 to $150).
Both perform the same and have attachments for cleaning floors and tips for deeper grout lines too and can clean a lot more than just floors. The "Plus" model is $50 more but heats up faster and can be refilled while in use but otherwise is the same as the regular Neat. I have many videos showing these two models in use and I have been very impressed with them over the years...I own four Neat's! I have two standard models and two of the PLUS models and they all work reliably and are still like new, and I started with them in 2018 so they appear to hold up well too. Good luck with whatever you choose but these are my personal recommendation!

@@JoeWheeler Thank you kindly for the response, I've come to the same conclusion. Will be waiting for the Neat+ to come back in stock.

Here's the thing. The new Dupray Neat+ is also $200 but it heats up in around two minutes (the 1385 takes around ten minutes) the + gets to 275 F versus the 1385 at 200F, and you can add water anytime you want to with the +, but with the 1385 you have to wait for it to cool first.
It offers a wetter steam than the + that is useful up to about a foot away from the tip of the nozzle, where the Neat+ is a "contact" steamer and needs to be very close to what it is cleaning...so the 1385 should excel in cleaning bathrooms and kitchens and some other tasks where super-heated water is needed more so than vaporized steam.
Of, course, there are lower priced models of both of these so you don't have to spend $200 but these are the top models in this category of steam cleaners and either one will do a lot of cleaning for you.
So you have to decide which has the feature-set you want and choose...or buy both like we did and have the best of both worlds!

every review of a mcculloch i've seen has ended with the reviewer saying just get a Dupray Neat.

Ten years ago the McColloch was very popular but it could use updating to compete and I don't see that happening. If I was stuck with having to use one I could make it work but the Dupray machines are in a different league.

@JoeWheeler Thanks for the review and this information. I bought the Dupray on your recommendation but would consider getting the McCullough for kitchen and bathroom use even though I am not a professional. Assuming this is the McCullough that makes chainsaws? Guess steam cleaners are just a sideline but sounds as though they need to take note of Dupray. I wonder whether Dupray might consider making a super-heated water machine for kitchen and bathroom use, or even adding this option to their contact cleaning machines. The best of both worlds but perhaps not realistic! Not being an engineer I wouldn't know .......

They offer "water injection" on some of their expensive commercial machines but maybe the next iteration of the Neat will add this feature. We have noticed that using the McColloch will add a lot of humidity to you living space so it can be uncomfortable at certain times of the day. You might want to crank up your AC for a cleaning session. It works fine to do that.

This is great. I’m still in the fence but based on my needs (tile floors throughout the house including the kitchen, as well as tiled bathroom shower and glass) I’m leaning towards the McCullough. I don’t meet it for carpet or furniture. My main thing is keeping the grout everywhere clean. Keeping the shower glass streak-free is a bonus, too. Is this what you guys were saying? I just want to make sure the Neat + isn’t what I actually need even though it seems to be highly recommended.

WE RETURNED THIS ITEM TO AMAZON and ordered another Dupray Neat+...for the same price we just like the Neat+ better for what we do. We tried it on a bunch of surfaces to be sure but decided to spend the money on something we know works for us...

Thanks for this video. What makes the McCulloh MC1385 so bad at cleaning carpet. I have 2 medium size rooms with carpet and to small rooms of linoleum. I like the MC1385 for the many attachments and large mop. I am confused that the majority of cannister steam cleaners come with small mop heads. Although, my priority would be to clean kitchen and bathroom, I would also like to clean carpet and can only afford to buy one machine. What do you suggest?

The floor head it comes with isn't as good as the Dupray on many carpets but is fine on hard floors if a little too wet at times. The newest Dupray Neat PLUS cost the same but is a better overall machine in our opinion. If you already have one of them just use what you have but if you are looking to buy one the Neat PLUS is the one we recommend.
