We explore the Shinkai desktop application, showing how to create an AI chat entirely offline. Starting with the Lama 3 model, I explain how easy it is to add new models and use them for tasks like asking about the Roman Empire. This setup requires a relatively advanced computer, but even a three-year-old Mac performs well. You can have conversations similar to those with OpenAI and upload files.
