I don't mean to be a "stick in the mud" (I certainly don't play trumpet as well) but you went so far as to use the cello with a period correct now and no foot peg, why the heck did you use vent holes?

So that the F natural doesn't hurt our equal temper trained ears by being a quarter tone sharp - and to prevent slipping (opening a hole will kill some harmonics so they don't sound). But yeh.
