Also, we all know what an absolutely talented actor Edvin is, but Omar is killing it this season for me. These emotions he's able to deliver is mindblowing. He gets me every time. And he's only getting better with each episode.

Exactly because he feels he doesn’t have another choice. I think this season shows perfectly that there’s a difference between family and the monarchy. They are separate things.
They do such a great job to explain August's issues a little more with this season. Not an excuse for what he did but with this season I actually came to understand him better and actually like.
Personally, I still hate August. Even though he apologized to Wilhelm, it wasn't his place to pay for the stupid things his brother did to him. In the video, there are two "Wilhelm and Simon". Did August apologize to Simon ? Never.

What Young Royals and Heartstopper did for their "villains" August and Ben, are examples of good writing, specifically in a queer stories about young people, where their mistakes are not excused or forgiven, but given greater context. They resort to hurtful actions because of fear, desperation, anger, envy, and not due to pure evil or wanton malice. And mostly because they are young without any proper guidance or support from the adults that are supposed to be looking out for them. By the end we get a sense that they have the ability to change and repent, but the story does not forgive them in place of the viewer, and more importantly the characters in-world that they have hurt.
THANKS for the rant about Stella’s and Fredrika‘s delusion and ignorance 🙄🙄🙄 they really pissed me off this season!!!!

I'm impressed how much the writers have built Sara's arc since season 1as she has had such a love/hate relationship with the audience that every single episode she's in you don't know how you're supposed to feel. Its incredible writing.
It's also good representation of neurodivergent people. We can be difficult to be around and we have a tendency to upset people by always saying and/or doing the wrong thing... Thing is, it made sense in our heads when we said or did it and since we are wired differently, we weren't aware other people would feel very differently about it. It's like constantly upsetting people without realising why and how and it's so f****** frustrating.
i read somewhere that wille saying he doesnt wanna advocate for all queers just cause he’s in love with simon, although it is a bit of a jawdropping statement, he’s had to be a role model and be very in the spotlight all his life when he just wanted a normal life and really he just wants to be part of something part of that community without having to lead it and be shoved into the spotlight AGAIN which i understand
YES exactly. A lot of people just don’t get it and they think he’s got some kind of internalized homophobia, but I don’t think that at all. He wants to have something that’s just his and isn’t politicized or publicized the way everything else in his life is.

I honestly loved the scene where August talked about hunger feeling good, because initially I started to agree with him; sometimes being hungry can seem pewceful or gratifying. But Simon said it sounded like an eating disorder and I had a sudden realization of how easy yet harmful it is to slip into that kind of mindset (and I don't even have an ED). Wish we had another season to further discuss that kinda stuff since I've noticed that pattern in August already, but even a small scene like that is quite powerful.

I'm actually a bit confused now. To me sometimes feeling hungry does feel good, but I'm pretty sure I don't have an ED (or if I did it wouldn't be related). It's not motivating to me and it has nothing to do with wanting to lose weight or something like that, I just like feeling things in general and feeling my body and sometimes that even extends to feelings that are negative. I think the line between positive and negative feelings can be very blurry anyway, I mean why else would people enjoy sad or scary stories if these feelings are 100% negative? Is it unnormal or concerning that I can enjoy "bad" sensations? With hunger and eating specifically being hungry also lets me enjoy eating more (which obviously is normal), so that's another aspect of hunger I like. I'm really confused about this
@@alexelion7084 I'm no professional, but I think the most important part comes down to your behaviors, not really what food makes you feel. Things can be very subjective, but as long as you eat enough and listen to your body u probably can relax. If your relationship with food causes you to eat less than you truly need, that's a concern

Loved your reaction and hearing your thoughts. I agree they did a good job making us feel sorry for August and Sara this season. Omar's acting this season was incredible, we got to see a more emotional side of him which I loved. I feel like we've had that side more of Edvin these past seasons so its great to see it come more from Omar this time. I love that Wilhelm and Simon are having more deep conversations and are trying to figure things out. Can't wait for the next two episodes. I love this show and I'm going to miss it so much! I loved how The Young Royals Documentary really gave us an insight to their characters and how they filmed everything. It made me even more emotional seeing them act out their final lines and scenes.
I have to say I really like the idea of writing a letter to your future self. It's not the same as the "where do you see yourself in five years" thing because it's mainly for your future self. When you read that letter from your past self again you can remember who you were, what you thought about, what you wanted, hoped and dreamed and you can compare that to where you are in life now and how much you have grown. It can be something just for you

I thought about that too, but if he just made it private, he'd still have all those comments and all those followers left, it would just prohibit new people from coming in. and there's probably too many people to go through and block. he could have made a new account or something I guess, but that wouldn't have diminished the fact that he deleted all those memories from his first insta
yeah me too, to be fair he'd have to remove all the haters followers, but still. i think maybe deleting it is a more final and drastic action for people who watch the show and dont know much abt social media, maybe don't know about privating, but thats my only explanation otherwise i was also super confused:D

Is it just me who thinks that an August spin off series would be so good. Seeing how he changed at the end of the season, how he approaches the suggested ED and if he changes as a human. It would be really interesting to me to see if he actually grew as a human being.
That would be so good!!!! August is honestly my favourite character now 😊 A prequel about the queen would be really cool too I think, about the time she went to Hillerska, maybe getting to see that "unfortunate romance" she had. I've been thinking about this for a while😅

Incidentally, a month after the first season of Young rules came out in Sweden, the Swedish royal family made an announcement that having an LGBTQ plus Royal child would not remove them from the l order of succession, which basically meant there’s a queer royal could also marry and stay within the Royal family. In the next episode, you will see Willhelm wearing a green carnation. Whilst you are young, you may still remember the name of a bar in Soho called the green carnation, Oscar Wilde, having used the flower as a symbol of homosexual love so it’s sort of nice to see it on. Wilhelm’s lapel but that is yet to come. ❤ 🫶

I'm thinking it's more so that this is what he's also trying to convince himself of - this is what he /should/ think, in his mind. they aren't even his words: "it's a privilege, not a punishment" is something his mom has said to him before. this season is a lot about Wille and Simon trying to embrace and accept the monarchy, and what happens when they do

I had to write one of those letters for myself 5yrs in the future when i was 17 n i completely forgot about it until a few months ago when i was cleaning out my old high school stuff n i found it. It had literally been like 5 n a half yrs since i had written it, which is a crazy coincidence, n that shit made me cry. Granted when i wrote it i was at the lowest ive ever been mentally so of course it would make me emotional.

no, i agree with simon's friends. its NOT just about deleting the social media. when his friend said that they dont want simon to delete himself, they can FEEL that simon gradually losing himself. remember how he said he find singing not so enjoyable anymore in episode 3? thats what they meant when they said they didnt want simon to delete himself. this whole thing about pursuing and trying for wille, simon sacrificed a lot, TOO MUCH, to the point he's slowly losing himself. so i have to disagree with you for not agreeing with simon's friend.
I did get that he wasn't enjoying all the things he used to and that's why she said that but "losing himself" because he deleted his social media was a pretty stupid line. As if people who don't posts and upload photos often (or ever) have no personality or an identity, i know they didn't say that but it kinda sounded like it.

Some things that did not made sense this season to me:
1. The assumption that the house was attacked by some right wing maniac who wanted to harm them. How did they came to that conclusion? Could have been anyone since you have homophobia across the spectrum.
2. That Simon has to delete the accounts. Nearly all SM platforms offer you to either download your history or deactivate your accounts before you delete. So then why was he crying about losing memories?

Hi hi! Before I begin, just wanted to say I really appreciate your videos and hearing your thoughts. You are a delight to watch and I hope you know that all of your hard work is appreciated! ❤🙏 Okay, here are some of my thoughts on this episode.
1. Wille sitting down to participate in the sit-in actually upset me. I understand that he want his phone back and some of the restrictions lifted. HOWEVER COMMA the person who proposed the sit in has been bullying his boyfriend for demonstrating just that morning. Doesn't that bother him?! And the fact that Wille didn't say anything to Vincent during the demonstration about his behavior is just as terrible. I wish he took this opportunity to say, "Hey, I need you to lay off. You act like Simon exercising his rights is disgusting, but here you are using his tactics. So, shut the fuck up and leave him alone."
2. It's sad that only Simon recognized that August has an eating disorder. The look on Simon's face left me speechless. I'm sure he would have followed up with him privately if it was any other schoolmate. But it's August. Man really said, "Oh no...anyways."
Appointing Vincent prefect was Wilhelm's worst choice but he couldn't have known that. August and he wanted to get rid of Simon from season 1 with the story of the drugs. But this was reinforced with Vincent in season 2. We can also say that Vincent used others when it suited him. Remember when he attacked Henry during the meal and said “why are you laughing”? And the next day, who stands behind Henry and says to Wilhelm "we have a witness who saw Felice lying on your bed". Likewise, when he told August "being crown prince or king will have advantages for them" August had told Wilhelm "Vincent will be worse than him".
I never liked this character. I found that he had too many annoying replies and harassed Simon. This should have been developed and also been one of the reasons for closing the school. I would also have liked the new principal to call Simon into her office because it was the only student from a modest background because there was more than just initiations at stake.
I agree with the others. I love when you pause to share your opinion in the moment. I also agree that Stella and Fredrica have become the worst characters aside from Vincent. As for Simon’s friends I think they are right to be worried about how much of himself he is giving up to try to make this relationship work. At what point is it just too much?
