I too have such kind of hairline cracks in my apartment's walls. They are not wide but long enough to put anyone in worry.
Question: what could possibly happen if we don't repair these walls with about 1-2mm width hairline crack? Is the wall going to fall after some years? Will the size and shape of existing crack change? Will it become more wider and longer, affecting other walls too?

The timber frame will move over time, but the plaster will not - and so it cracks.The appearance of cracks and other distortions caused by building movement can be visually unattractive and disconcerting for occupants, and if left untreated they can affect the integrity, safety and stability of the structure.
