Idea: instead of each value being represented by a tone of increasing pitch, you take the sound of the word "albuquerque" from the song and split it up so it slowly assembles the sound clip
Instead of each slice being a pitch, it should've been an audio slice from the song Albuquerque, or at least from a small fraction of the song, like when they sing the word "Albuquerque".
@Jonskipvpmore like 683 hours since 1 frame becomes roughly 3600 (assuming 30fps and 1 minute per sort) and Albuquerque has about 40,980 frames (again, assuming 30fps)
@@nvcbl I remember using the < and > feature to go 1 frame forward and backwards and 1 second was about 12 frames I think Edit: Checked the stats for nerds and yeah the video is 12 fps, and since there are extra 4 frames after 11:22, we get 8188 frames, a pretty neat number ngl
you should make it so that a sorting algorithm plays for the exact amount of time that Albuquerque plays and then make each pixel column shift in the way that the algorithm does
what if you wrote a script that takes audio and splits it into hundreds of tiny segments and scrambles/sorts them so we can have the song itself sorted too? i have no idea how this would work
According to other comments, this one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitonic_sorter I didn't spend the time to fully understand it, but at a glance, it seems designed to use a large parallel rig (like a GPU) to break it down into sub-sequences that are already sorted in either the right order or the reverse of the right order, then stitch them all back together.
