I’m just getting into bikes, always been intrigued! I’ve come across this channel in my research and studying (as I have not yet purchased a bike) and I myself have found you, yammie noob and our friendly neighborhood squid Mad Maxy. I’ve learned a lot from every video on every one of the three of you guys! Please never stop! You stay engaged and simplistic! It makes it fun and easy to continue and follow!!!
Fantastic info! I followed your step by step diagnosis and found out that one of my plug coils is cracked (old motorcycle) hence the misfiring. Got it replaced and problem solved.
06 gsxr1000. In second sometimes third… at steady low rpm throttle, the bike stumbles and surges occasionally. Complete fuel pump filter assembly etc was recently done and ran great for almost a year. Just wondering what you think I should check into. Bought plugs today will install soon. But if you could think of other things to cross off the list let me know
Found the definition on google, but I was unsure what you meant by "surging". I am saving this video to come back to any time I need a reminder until I get more versed in my engine and engine knowledge in general.
My 06 gsxr 1000 kinda has the same problem. I can still get everywhere on the rpm gauge and it still goes plenty fast, but I can only do it while lightly accelerating. As soon as I try to full on accelerate, no matter what gear I’m in, I full power it and it misfires harddd, shakes my bike and it jerks somewhat. You think these same steps might fix it before I take it into a shop?!
What do you consider too high of mileage to buy a gsxr 600? I’m looking at a 2020 gsxr 600 with 13,500 miles. But the bike is in excellent condition and ready to ride. He’s asking $7,500. What are your thoughts? Please and thank you
Hi mate, my bike has a slight dip on idle but seems to rev out while stationary, it does hesitate a little, but when under load and moving it splutters and jerks up to 3k rpm then it runs fine.. do you know what the issue could be, Iv checked the plugs against the frame and all seem to be sparking.. any help would be appreciated 👍 cheers
That was very informative I will past this on yo my bike mechanic. He sd he has been thru everything and my bike is still running rich snap, crackling, and popping all ova the damn place 🤦🏾♀️😡
my k5 1000 have some gremlin, misfire little, sometimes is good which is new problem. so, two set spark plugs, no success. new coil pack, no success. compression good, valves adjusted, fuel pressure ok and steady, injectors flow test ok, vacuum ok, idle ok. no codes. engine "make rrrrrrrr noise" under misfire into airbox which start at 3000rpm and goes away at around 3800rpm. how driving take more time and heats build up i can sense this rrrrr over handlebars and in much wider rpm range. before several days after hard riding on highway engine "fix himself" and work like honda, like something was connect back or settle where need to be. after maybe 500km misfire returns. what to do?
Wattup my guy i changed the spark plugs fuel pump fuel filters and still having a misfire i think i have a problem with my coils just ordered new ones hopefully that fixes my issue
Dude Im trying out the fuel regulator. Ive tried it all besides the regulator on my 2011 busa and cant ride past 8k rpm on 5th gear. Hope it works tho.
That’s exactly what happed to this bike. I literally checked everything ended up being the pressure reg. If it’s stuck at 8k rpm when u ride, it’s probably the reg. ( u can also try cleaning it with carb cleaner…might fix it) lmk if u fix it.
Im checking out a fuel regulator now. I just dont know what BAR should I get for my busa. Perhaps do you know it to save me some time researching about it. Awesome video btw, took me 4 months to find a similar situation like yours.
Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure Busa has the same exact fuel pump as the bike in the video. I heard another guy say it when I was watching videos on fuel pumps. Just take the old pressure reg out and make sure it looks the same as the new one(before u order it) I can give u the part number if u need it, and I ordered my stuff through quantum fuel. Hope that helps
@@SpunkyBoyy heyy man, found out that busas have 43 psi. The one arrived to me was 50psi. (Bummer). I ordered 43 but I dont know to the seller. Question, you think its smart to run my bike with a higher psi? Or will the ecu take care of the fuel delivery.
I have misfiers and noise , so i changed the cct and the chain and i start the bike the knocking noise disapear after 10 minutes but still misfiers and today the noise came back
You need Spark, Air, and Fuel for the engine to run (assuming it’s not blown up) so yes you need enough compression for the engine to turn over. However the air is NOT apart of the Fuel…they are separate from each other. That’s why it’s called Air/Fuel ratio because u need to be getting the optimal amount of both for the engine to run correctly.

Thanks for posting..I am not mechanically inclined, always appreciative of good explanation / learning something new!
You’re welcome👌🏻💯

You have a very natural teaching talent my dude!!!
Awesome! And thanks for sharing this info!!!
Much appreciated man!
🤘🏻👽
That what good information bro. Keep it up man, you helped me fix my GSXR thanks mate.
What was it was it spark plugs or what part?

Hi
Do you set the suspension on the bike? How much do you weigh?
My 06 gsxr 1000 kinda has the same problem.

Good advice!!! And I’m a bike tech/ mech. 👍👍
Thanks 👌🏻

Great video and explanation. Learned some things from you today.
Thanks bro, just ordered my kit today! Damn suzuki's 🤣
You may have to mention the TPS and MAPS sensors too. But regardless very good video. You have to make more for rider's education

Good video but it sounds like you're sometimes using "rule out" the opposite way. The operative word is "OUT."
Now I see why my cousin rebuilds bikes. It’s not as expensive as I thought

Did it?
I washed my bike with a pressurewasher and after that it started to run rich (dark spark plugs) any idea where the problem is?
So what was the actual problem
Yammie Noob just got some competition!

And help on a part on my muscle bike can you help me please 🙏 🙏🙏 thank you
You're missing the 10 micron filter, that lives in the fuel sending unit.. They fail, and often.
I have misfiers and noise , so i changed the cct and the chain and i start the bike the knocking noise disapear after 10 minutes but still misfiers and today the noise came back
So the problem with the 2006 was the fuel regulator?
Yes
Engine needs Fuel, Spark, and Compression. The air is a part of the fuel, since gasoline and air get mixed to create the fuel
I feel the OP is right, even if you have a perfect mix fueling the combustion chamber, no compression would mean a non working engine. @@SpunkyBoyy
AWESOME AMAZING SUPERB
Thanks👌🏻
A mi me gustan las gsxr ❤🙌 algun dia espero tener una con el favor de dios
There are three categories on diagnostic tree, ignition, air fuel and mechanical, you forgot the last leg
Please wear a respirator while spraying any aerosol paint/cleaners. I burnt the lining of my throat by accidentally inhaling.
Does Spunky mean something different in the US?
You dont want to be referred to as Spunky Boy here in the UK! 😂
This helped out a lot but unfortunately I paid a guy 1600 and now it has this problem and now trying to fix myself... the guy went M.I.A on me 😒
Because i have no fucking idea what to do
