    When you think about it, Popy was just a young girl trying to grieve her mother while her crapy father was trying to replace his wife and play "happy family". What she really needed was to feel safe, loved and supported by her father. Not some random woman invading her space and trying to replace someone irreplaceable for her. Popy should have been his priority from the start. Instead, he did nothing to help her and just dumped her in a boarding school when he got tired of the mess he caused.
    When, after a traumatic experience, people start acting like she did at the beginning of the movie, it's often a cry for help.
    She started getting better because she was in a better environment. No more toxic friends, no more crapy father and no more f*ing girlfriend to trigger her trauma. Instead, she had a structure and routine to help her get better habits, friends to love and support her and the head mistress who was strict but fair with her.

      She was a spoiled girl period. and i think your forgetting what parents are for their duty is giving shelter food education that's it and if she was a little girl then i would have agreed with you but she's clearly not a child and almost a adult she should have supported her father he is also a human and needs a partner. What do you want him to do stay single for his grown up daughter who will leave to live on her own one day while he stays alone for the rest of his life all for the daughter who may not even appreciate him. Dad's are not for only sacrificing and providing for the family. she was a brat and i am happy that her dad got rid of her.

      @@unknownboy3264 I’m a parent and my responsibility goes far beyond just physical needs like food and shelter. I’m sorry if you’ve had a different experience.
      Of course you can date as a parent but you still have responsibility to your child first like getting them grief counseling. And you don’t just move someone in to replace their mother, you wait till you get serious and then slowly introduce them.

    • @Valediction9
      @Valediction9 2 роки тому +131

      @@skinsciencebymira And I wholly agree with this. When you have a child, that child comes first. I think that while the daughter in this movie was definitely in need of some shaping up, the father could have done better by her as well. She's grieving still, and her father trying to, in her eyes, replace her mother, is not helping by any means.

    • @skinsciencebymira
      @skinsciencebymira 2 роки тому +77

      @@Valediction9 there’s definitely no argument that she was spoiled and acting out for sure but exactly, kids often act out because they want structure and attention. If she was spoiled it was because her father didn’t get her the help she needed and wasn’t involved, he instead let her do what she wanted and tried to replace her mother with a new mom so he didn’t have to step up. I think that part of the movie was realistic.
