Like fishing hoppers? Tired of spending so much on flies? Get you a $15 fly tying vice and a few simple tools/supplies and crank out a box full of hoppers and get to fishin!
I really liked how you use basic materials. Michael's foam, homemade 2 tone foam, basic scissor cut body rather than a stamped body. Much more intricate and life like than the patterns I've had lots of luck with so I have no doubt these puppies will catch fish! Thanks for the video!
Love the pattern. Looks like it will kill some bass and bluegill. A friend asked if I’d tie him some grasshopper patterns. Might roll with this pattern.
Yes! Just normal super glue. It helps if you glue a larger sheet together all at once then cut out the shape you need from the larger sheet. if you try to glue the smaller sheets together pre cut the glue gets everywhere & is harder to line up. Let me know if this works for you!
Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know when I try it! I make these small 1/16 oz belly weights, and I think the foam sheets in this pattern will still float the hook and the weight. That way I'll be able to fish it on a light action spinning rod. This wouldn't offend you as a fly fisherman, would it? :)
There are SO many small tan hoppers in my area (Southern NJ) this Summer! I love tying little hoppers for small bass and bluegills!

Thanks for watching, brother!

Also not a bad pattern for big chub year round or even autumn asp :)
Well done!
Thanks, Michael!
Well done! Do you use super glue to glue the sheets together?

Sounds awesome! I'm for any type of fishing as long as you're getting out there and enjoying catching fish!
