I just love all of your videos, Amanda. I walk 10,000 steps per day and lately I just put your playlist on and it’s so comforting to walk with you😊 sending love! Happy new year
Altitude impacts sleep tremendously. Thanks for sharing
Your photography is always so beautiful. Happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Thank you so much! I've gotten a lot better at photography over the years learning from Nick!
Throughly enjoy you sharing the good and the bad. Thanks
Brought back memories of trying to sleep through an intense rain storm high up in the Cascades in my cheap tent. I was miserable but I survived!
I love the uintas but the weather is very unpredictable. Went on a solo trip with my dog on an 80 degree day and it ended up snowing overnight with intense winds that were blowing the walls of the tent in. Ended up packing up at first light. I was so grateful for my dog who slept in the foot box of my sleeping bag-I would have froze otherwise
Glad you made the right choice. No matter what - there will be other days you can always go back. Even it was short, it was an amazing hike 👍🏼
when i was 13, i went to Philmont with the boy scout troop. its in the Sangre De Christo range in north New Mexico. every day at 3 pm it would rain. hailed a couple of times. and the thunder was....i dont know....metallic? you know what im trying to say? definitely different, i loved it.
I download your videos just to listen to as I backpack. In the Arizona summer, I just imagine I'm in the colder weathers where you are.
Hi Amanda love watching your videos but for someone who’s never been backpacking this looks scary and dangerous how do you stay safe from when you encounter bad weather especially lighting ? Gear to take ? Food ? Follow up video
Watching this during a house rattling thunder storm lol
Scary.
Hi Amanda, what brand umbrella is that you guys are using
What tarp were you using to stay out of the rain? I’m looking for one myself :)
I'm sorry you didn't have the best trip, but it was fun to watch!
That chicken pesto pasta is one of my favorite backpacking meals; my 12yo insists on it every trip! We have the same opinion as you on the breakfast scramble - it's fine, but I'd rather be eating granola (which is weird, because at home I always prefer eggs.) If you want my 12yo's reccomendation, try the biscuits and sausage gravy from that same company. It's a little heavy for me for breakfast, but really tasty.
That hail storm was the best advertisement I've ever seen for carrying an umbrella!
haha yes the umbrella saved the day!! I still have to try the biscuits and gravy. I know Nick would love that one!
Russia and Australia 🥰🥰
Bhaiya mujhe bhi 1 gift de do please...
Mein India se hu. zamzam I love you
Good video. You didn't go for a swim?? LOL It's too bad the weather came in as that area looks great for exploring.
that was me last weekend..wasn't hiking only camping but rain started heavy 630 am day 2, my tent had a hole, miserable lol so i had to pack up and leave! first day was gorgeous tho!!
Coffee stipend for your next early morning departure….
That looked like a memory making trip. The adverse ones are more etched in our memories, and become fonder over time.
We have cut a camping trip short due to snow before.
I get it. Im not a fan of camping in the rain. Or packing up in it either.
Can you link the tarp that you set up please? 😊
👍👍
Beautiful looking area. You must go back again sometime. I love hiking and camping in the rain. Thunder and lightning not so much
I did a solo backpack trip into the White Mountains of eastern Arizona a few years ago in late summer and on the way out I got blasted by the usual seasonal high country storms. I was all packed up and on the way out when the storm hit. Lightning, wind, and long and heavy rain and hail. It looked like it had snowed 30 minutes later. I had no better place to stick it out but to sit down at the base of a huge fir tree. Thankfully no real close lightning strikes, but it was touch and go for what seemed like an eternity. What a great memory.
Started out so inspiring, transitions through a bad nights sleep, a turn in the weather and then a positive retreat back to civilisation!😊 Make sure your focus is enjoying nature and not thrashing out content and you'll prevail!
You are so inspiring!
Very adaptive video experience!
A bad hiking trip still is better than going to work….to bad for the weather but still great vibes
Gosh, weather like that is so beautiful in its own way
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
I can see how disappointed you were by the weather, but you definitely made the right decision. Where were you camping?
Yea we were definitely happy with the decision. We were camping in Naturalist Basin. It was really beautiful and there's a lot to explore!
Intense weather! What trailhead did you hike from? Just curious because the Uinta's are on my list for next year, but I don't believe I want to do the entire highline trail. Having a reasonable hike in though and enjoying a few lakes sounds wonderful.
We started at the Highline Trailhead. I've never done the entire Highline Trail though. I'm not really sure it's something I want to do anytime soon. The weather is just so intense in these mountains, but there are a ton of really beautiful areas!
@@amanda.outside Thank you! I look forward to backpacking part of it next year. A appreciate your videos and experiences. Great information!
