You NEVER EVER hold a fish behind the gills. This puts a great deal of pressure on the heart, and after a struggle it is not always strong enough to survive
Hi Kieran, For all general fishing Rio Gold is in our opinion and the market leader. For specific river fishing I would suggest Rio's Trout LT. Take a look here: www.flyfishingtackleonline.co.uk/116/Fly-Lines/863/Gold
hey do you know of any carp fly fishing videos i should look at i fish commercial lakes atm and wonder if i could use nymphs as bait from carp as the pick up zig bugs, i was thinking of using this method hand have constructed a fully in line running float would it work? thanks Matt
Have you never heard of barbless hooks?looked like a bit of a struggle to get the hooks out and wet hands before you handle a fish that is going to be released is a must
Hi I you guys are on the larger side of life like me. Where do you guys buy your fly fishing clothes? as struggle to find things fit. Great video thankyou!
Fly fishing under the bung, have you ever wondered about this method of fishing on the dark side??! Watch as Tony and, one of the UK's best bung fly fisher Mick Chater, get together in our lastest video. Will Mick convince Tony to move over to the dark side??
jghbicket1924 I hate seeing trout that have been handled and released ending up all diseased due to slime being removed. All catch and release should be unhooked in the water
I don't see why people make a fuss about strike indicators, it's no different to using a very buoyant dry fly to suspend a buzzer. 99% of UK trout fishing isn't really purist fly-fishing anyway, so whatever makes you happy. What is offensive about this video is the terrible fish handling on show. Worst of all is the ridiculous idea of putting a fish scraping camera on the landing net. Why not string barbed wire across it and make sure you damage the fish? Using barbed hooks on a catch and release water as heavily stocked as Danebridge is unforgiveable. Who cares if you drop the odd one off when you are catching twenty a day?
patrick mc carthy not really....buzzers hang in the water moving just mm up and down and drifting in the wind. In some ways fishing under an indicator is a very natural way to fish.
@ 10.00 ' He will still be fat and ugly afterwards'..............jesus is this really banter?? Bit harsh that..................one of the things I detest about British culture is the banter thing, were you can be basically very rude and abusive for no reason.
How pathetic, catching stockies in a horrible hole in the ground fishery. Get out on the big waters and learn how to catch proper, grown on fish using sporting methods.
i fished on the bung 1st time today 4 hours 7 fish got a brown trout 8 and a half lb 5 rainbow and a blue. kinross trout fishery. loved it

Now this is a result, nice work Tom!
Great job on catching fish Isn't that why we go fishing If you don't have something nice to say to people don't say anything Never seen so many haters
Hi Lads, thinking of giving still waters a bash, what sort line weight shod I opt for and length. I have fished rivers for 40 years
fantastic video
Could you not do this on a lure rod with a tiny bubble float and any fly of your choice, without the back cast and over complication of a fly rod?
Can I ask why you leave all that line lying on the floor instead of collecting it onto the reel and using the drag ?
It’s better for the tension. Only use the reel if the fish brings you on it itself.
can anyone give me any advice on which floating line is the best on the market these days? I have no clue , cheers kieran

Watch totally awesome fishing show carp on the fly good video
Great video guys! what flies were you using under the bung during the video, was it a shammy worm throughout the whole day?, thanks, tight lines!

Grant barr I agree with you 100 percent

Better using barbless hooks on catch and release

Show a bit more respect for the fish, and use barbless for C&R.
Learn how handle and put fish back properly. Not sure who you are intending on consulting to, but you clearly have a lot to learn.
Debarbed hooks and not taking the fish out of the water would make this mince a bit more entertaining.
jghbicket1924 I hate seeing trout that have been handled and released ending up all diseased due to slime being removed. All catch and release should be unhooked in the water
Who needs a fly box when you can just hook em round your ear
Float fishing for trout !!!.
If you're doing catch and release keep the fish in the water. No need to handle them.
Mantap boss,,,please back to my home
What is this to do with fly fishing? Why not go whole hog and use proper floats ,maggots etc?
peter ward well for starters you're using a fly and a fly rod...
peter ward well said lol
And stop handling the fish around the gills
Get a life. No harm in holding trout that way if you do it properly.
That guy mick is worth more to weigh him in as scrap!!!.
Don’t care about method, I catch kill and eat, spinners, spoons, fly, worms, same result.
Like fish in a barrel, hardly sporting. If you're fishing correctly with an indicator it should be nothing like float fishing.
I don't see why people make a fuss about strike indicators, it's no different to using a very buoyant dry fly to suspend a buzzer. 99% of UK trout fishing isn't really purist fly-fishing anyway, so whatever makes you happy.

Simply by sliding the bung up and down . SNAP WAS THAT MY LINE THERE . P.M.S.L YOU WILLY BITER
Bait fishing not fly fishing

Why don't you learn the correct way to handle fish and use barbless hooks?

Sorry this has nothing to do with fly fishing.also as usual reels round the wrong way,a classic give away of a once coarse fisherman
