- I list out the steps that I use in Obsidian for studying for exams and how I use it to create questions for NeuraCache and Anki
Features I cover are:
1) Implementing mind maps into Obsidian
2) Using Obsidian to create a study plan with a Pomodoro timer
3) Creating revisions notes with a template structure
4) Creating questions in Obsidian using Fold Indent to hide answers
5) Linking to NeuraCache and Anki to practice questions using spaced repetition and active recall
Pomodoro code

You are the best Obsidian youtuber i've seen so far. Your information is clear and not taking me to much time to understand. Keep it up!
Great example! Thanks for your efforts.
Beautifully clear and concise! There is a mind map plug-in for obsidian if you want to just stay in obsidian
Yes I started use that! Thanks for your comment.
Informative and inspirational video. Good job.
Amazing! Thank you for sharing :-)
Thank you for watching.

Thank you for subbing.
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Many thanks for this video, it’s very well explained. Have you considered doing mind maps directly in Obsidian with the mind map plugin? Miro’s output is definitely nicer but, OTOH, having the mind map directly in Obsidian guarantees it remains machine readable in the future. Also, have you looked at the Obsidian to Anki plug-in in Obsidian?
Thank you for your kind words. I have looked at James Lynch Mind Map plugin. It looks very useful and I am sure I will incorporate it into my workflow.
I did not know there was an Obsidian to Anki plugin. I will take a look.
For my studies, I have been using NeuraCache exclusively as the developer implemented auto-syncing of questions on to the app from Obsidian folders.
@@SivWUK I was not aware of autosyncing between Obsidian and NeuraCache. Thanks.
FYI - 3 years later but Obsidian now comes with flashcard, mind mapping and canvas as community plugins.
good stuff.
One thing that maybe will be useful.
I don´t know if this is available in your country.
But can you get previous tests from the same course? if so, get the previous and second previous years tests and do them and make sure you know most of it or all of it (depending on how much it is) or just the main concepts in the course.
Great idea, I will ask the course teacher.
Can you share the template?
Added to the blog.
What's the point of doing this? What's the role of Obsidian, outside of just inputting the cards into Anki?
Anki is for brute memorization. Obsidian is for building knowledge which you’d probably retain for a longer period and gain different insights.
Yeah, its a waste of time. I can do the same in Anki directly.
@@chido5945 None of the youtubers explain this what you are saying, just some fluff. Do you know any youtuber who has made some serious progress using obsidian in creating insights to publish papers etc. I would love to see those examples.
@@tomato778 Kinda agree with ya. No matter how much I try I can't seem to see any good reason to use Obsidian. I'd rather just use a Notion template to contain content notes and the summary, anki for the questions. I'm gonna give Obsidian one last try but completely remove it from the note taking, summarization and question bank process. After I have the notes for the week I am going to use Obsidian to distill the notes into individual ideas so I can recall them from another direction and group by concept rather than lecture or section in a course. Pretty much just gonna use Obsidian for its original purpose rather than trying to force note taking into it.
Thats just stretching work nothing more!!!
