If we’re going purely on medals, sure. But personally I think it’s a little silly to go purely on medals, if not straight naive. Tebogo ran absolutely insane times in many events this year, and Lyle’s winning the most competitive Olympic 100m , scratch that, flat out any 100m and then also his consistency over the 200m throughout the year and the (albeit disappointing) but still incredible bronze over the 200m finals in Paris WHILE HAVING COVID (against another fairly competitive field). Like, I get sprinting is kind of overblown but I def think these two are better than sifan. I personally wouldn’t put them all that far ahead of say Jakob or maaaaybe kipyegon with all her records.

Sure he didn’t double but 110/100mH don’t double very often and it’s hard to hold this against him when no one got multiple individual golds at the Olympics on the men’s side. @@모모-p3n2qhow so? She won the 400m hurdles wr. Anything else in the realm of what this award has been made for? Because if u are going based on an athlete breaking a record because it was the own l, why is the pole vault kid not nominated for the men. He literally has the record for breaking his own record more times in a season. Meanwhile. Julien won olympic 100m, world 60m gold, diamond league 100m final and Olympic silver in 200m. And if we are considering the competition she faced it was always a more competitive field and she was also never the favorite if you're also looking at a growth standpoint, this being her first full season. U say Sydney all round dominant, taking part in races like the 200m and 400m and not being in the conversation of top 3 in the event makes u an all round athlete but not an all round dominant act. So let's stop the bias. It's crazy that someone would win this just for breaking her record in the 400 hurdles. HOT TAKE: I’ve been following your videos for the past five years and have always appreciated your analytical approach and data-driven insights. However, I feel there’s been significant disrespect towards Armand Duplantis (and I don;t even respect pole jumping). He’s not just the Athlete of the Year; he should be considered for Athlete of the Decade.
This raises an important question: how can we, as fans of athletics, take subjective awards seriously when organizations like the IAAF fail to acknowledge their top athletes? Additionally, I wonder why athletics awards 46 medals, which seems excessive. While I understand politics play a role, I’d like to know which disciplines you believe should be removed from the Olympic schedule.

So Tebogo taunting his competitors in the U20 World Athletics Championships is sportsmanlike, but Noah somehow isn’t. When has Noah ever displayed behavior like that towards others? Being confident in himself is not unsportsmanlike.
