I had two problems with the rack4smart. 1. I could not easily connect the two legs because the male part was too big for the female part; in fact, it was impossible to insert it all the way and I could not even insert it half way. I had to trim the male part with a power tool so that it would fit. 2. I had the same issue with the locking bolts. They were very hard to insert and I had to use a drop of lubricating oil to easily insert them. Another challenge I will face is securing the bicycle. I have the Smart Cabrio and there is no mention in the instruction page of how to secure the bicycle with the strap, but I'm sure I'll find a way. I will probably use some rope. Despite the minor difficulties I had with the rack4smart, I think it will serve my purpose.
the instructions are the same for both Cabrio and Coupe. use the elastic rope provided, or you can have an extra strap for securing the bicycles. The Locking Bolts may be a bit tight at the begging but after the first use, they will get in batter. According to the plastic connector for the Legs must be precise as the made by CNC, may be the female part had any dents from the transportation.
Our system is designed that your license number and your tail light are visible when a bicycle is loaded. However if your bicycles frame blocks the license number and the tail lights, you need an additional lighting.
All products are ISO approved by TUV Nord. According to the Trafiic regullations tail lights and lisence number must be visible at all times. if not, you need an additianal lighting. www.rack4smart.com/en/shop/accessories/trailer-light-board/
