so that floating manual pad is probably for doing double flips. Basically, in order to do a double flip, you need to set your difficulty to normal or hardcore and you have to trick the game into thinking you're going to land earlier than you actually will, usually by narrowly missing some geometry (like the manual pad. Your will flip fast enough to land on that piece, but when you miss it, you will keep flipping (you need to be on normal or hardcore, because on easy, you'll stop flipping after the first flip).
