I have one of these lights also and was thinking of doing the same thing. I question how you can do this on a timer based system though. A timer or tank controller would essentially cut the power to that outlet and turn it back on. On my light (not sure of yours), when I plug it in it goes into a color cycle mode (demo mode) until I choose a color from the remote. So in essence ever time the lights would turn on, I would have to manually set each of them to the right color.
After watching this video I decided use this lighting in my 100gl reef. I chose 30w lights, 7 of them, 4 blue and 3 white 6000k. The result is really good, very good growth on all softies (sarcophyton, sinoularia, all kinds of mushrooms, all kinds of polyps) I only have 1 LPS and it could have better growth, but extends beautifully. I recently added a few sps's and they survive beautifully and extend their polyps but I see no real growth yet.
Where did you buy the acrylic bracket that is sitting on the tank? ... or did you have to make it yourself? .. if so, how did you do it?
I just ordered two of the 10w for my reef. How hot do they got. The fixture itself. Would you recommend installing cooling fans on them?
What kind of "metal bar" is that? What department of Home Depot did you find it in and what is it called? Thanks for the inspiration!
Ask any sales rep. It is called Aluminum square bar. They switch this product to different departments however most of the time you will probably see it in the screws and bolt area.
hello 27 loocking good i have one question if you put then on a timer went they come back on they gone to be in the sen color the you shot they off or theygone come on ina diferent chanel thank you.
What you going to put in the empty space between the 4 lights or why the empty space in the middle
so what color are these ? and wattage ?
super cool looks...
coral will grow in this light?
Nice lights bro 😎
What brand of lights are those
crazy, ill have to keep an eye on this. didnt know they had controlable multichip ones out like that. still dont think its enough light though. Im running 160w on my cube and i think it could use more. but it all depends on the type of leds i guess.
I really like the light stand. I'm not sold on the LED's that you used however. There's no way to know what color you are truly emitting in to your tank. They do sell those LED flood lights in specific color temperatures.
They come in two different color temps, warm and white, and you specify which color temp you want when you order.
a very nice tank, great idea, nice n beautiful aquascaping, clear n detailed info, constructive effort , everything is good. btw are these pukani dry rock's ??? dude thank you for the video . GOOD JOB.
nice
OH now i got it.. 4x10W.. nice look and feel. Yeah i feel indeed your previous power LED s(2x100W?) were way to bright. Normally wat i found in the forum is if you have 200W metal halide(HQi) then need 1/2 for LED ie 100W to match. And for T5/T8 1/3 is ok too.
For intense lighting in sea aquarium you need 1w/l in terms of T5/T8 lamp power. So you can calculate pretty much about how much LED power you may need.
I hope this RGB LED gives all the spectrum needed for your precious corals:)
Are you still using it? Has it hold,i love what you did and would like to make one for myself. Good job!
I cant wait to see how your corals do under those lights they look awesome.
Is there a similar product on the market that I can buy from Ebay amazon or from other trusted sites? I need to make the two sides of my tank higher to put my lights on it. So I am looking for a mount that is minimum 3.5" tall (more is better) and has a flat top (if it has slide protection on the edges that is ok, if it is wide enough.) I can't hang my lights, that is why I am looking for a mount like this... I would use it for regular long LED fixture and a regular long (both 36") LED fixture.
looks really good man i cant wait to see how corals respond. The only concern I have is when you adjust each individual light do you see variations in the color across the tank. Also did you get your lights on ebay. and what ebay vendor did you use. Also did you have to buy a remote seperatly or did it come with a kit and how do you program the remote to work
Hey. I just saw this. And may I say. Wow that is nice... Real DIY: AND IT LOOKS GREAT
nice idea setting mine up tonight. I was wondering my 20 watt lights which i have 2 dont seem to give off a good white i might need 2 more on my 75 , do you know how many kelvins they give out i cant seem to find it but the blues are great thanks
nice job patel question where do you get those lights they are awesome....ok im curious where do you get these please with the remote they look cool nice job
Sweet! I was thinking I was going to have to install computer fans on each of the light! How are the corals doing with these. I just have four 10w rgbs that say there 900 lumens each... There on my 37 column tank which is 20x18x24(lxwxh) do you think the four will be good enough for softies like zoas, mushrooms,Xenia?
these light r good, if u want stronger brighter white or blue u better buy the single color fixture, multi color has good feature of color selection but has lower par its because 10w divided on each color
great idea and i love led's. Metal halide, t5's etc, are prehistoric compared to led. The led floods give a shimmer just like MH without the cost. great job.
Cool concept dude.. ur a pro now :) . Btw what is the power of each floodlights?
its like if you gonna purchase 4 get 2 whites and 2 multi
Good job!just a question, can you raise coral under 10+10w light fixtures? On the sides of the tank or you need more than that?
How many flood lights and watts u recommend for 54*18*27 l*w*h
0... lol... after my experiment I concluded that par38 full spectrum lights was zoo much better with par readings and coral growth. For a very shallow tank these lights are good. but not for tanks that have depths more then 16"
ok but i have Fish only tank
oh, in that case yea any size above 30watts is good
thanks a lot :)
Hey I have those same lights except the 3000 lumen ones.
Sweet I like the lights but is it good enough to grow corals and where can I buy them thanks..
Really nice lights, puts my t-5's to shame...
How much was your whole set up?
What measures does your bro aquarium.
genius pure genius
Looks good mate. Well done
SWEET THOSE LIGHTS ARE AWESOME
Great setup, where did you purchase the lights from
Off ebay
