The Beeeeeeezil on the machine made Roly is defintely infamous! I grew tired of the hype and placed my name on a wait list and moved on lol. SO many other options in the market place at the same RETAIL price point.
I don't understand the "one watch collection" thing. If you choose a piece for all occasions you end up with jack of all trades but master of none! Also, if you love watches, you cannot have one watch, even if you only do luxury watches. But the worst thing about it, is that you will pack your whole budget in one piece. And that's crazy and silly. If you get robbed, you'll end up with,... nothing! You'll have to buy a luxury watch again. Hear me out: here in the US, there are a lot muggers specially in New York and L.A., looking for the "crown watches",...
I could not have one watch for all occasions, simply because that watch doesn't even exist. The thing is that we have a tendency to adapt to what we have, or what we can afford. And with the great options you have in the market, one watch won't satisfy anybody. I got to have my chrono sport, my diver, and specially my field/military/pilot watch (my favorite style).
The Rolex Sub is obviously a nice watch, but I could not have that one only. And since I'm not a Rolex lover, I'd rather build a small collection for the same price. If I was to build a collection for 12,000 dollars, I'd rather get an Omega Seamaster or a Breitling Superocean, a Tudor chrono or a Tag Heur Carrera, and IWC pilot watch or a Breathing Navitimer. I would be way more satisfied with three of these than having only a Sub,... But that's me. Cheers!
