"not enough flaws in modern music" Bless you, son. It's sad that the ears of young people are being groomed to consume digital film flammery and pay the record makers for a beat drop , not the soul and feeling of someone who is in tune with their chosen instrument. Thanks for your effort. I've learned a lot. Greatly appreciated.
Agree - however, lets recall that so-called modern music is much less articulated than that of, say, the 60's, 70's, 80s,....There are much less ideas, and much more repetition. So making it "perfect" becomes easier....
Adrian, you’re a real inspiration to a lot of players out there. You should be proud of the massive time and effort you’ve put forth to accomplish this. Yes, I realize how much fun it is, that’s why we play. Great video and would love to see some acoustic stuff as well. Thanks so much!
They say, it is never too late to learn, but I don't think, I can ever learn anything like this. You have a gift from the higher powers, man. Thank you.
I think you did a great job with Folsom prison blues, I like your style and I agree with leaving some flaws in there makes it sound much cooler, nice job Adrian!
Adrian the smoke is just blowing off that fret board, totally excellent country riffin and a stonkin video to boot. Adrian love those tasty country motifs and your website is simply a Gold mine of tremendous material and tutorials Thanks a mil and great to see you gettin into the groove. And the weekend is always going to be a bit tastier if there's a video from Adrian
You're a hell of a guitar player and....you can actually explain what's going on without falling into endless boring theory what is important too but not on a sunday afternoon 🙂I'm now at 3/4 of your pace of the solo. I'ts suberb so I want to know how to play it! Great stuff !
love your lesson, I've played blues for years and now i'm learning some country, its like a totally different language to me ... this has been very helpful, thanks for taking the time to make this video
Hey Adrain! I enjoy all your videos especially the post punk ones. I see a lot of people commenting on how you always manage to get a killer guitar tone whether it be country, punk, or whatever. Would you ever consider doing a video all about tone? A lot of beginners like myself never know where to start when it comes to pedals, amp settings etc... Thank you for all the vids!!! you rock !
Top notch stuff Adrian, saved to my favourites and regularly visited to expanded my riff library over this classic song. Smashing easy to follow tutorial
Great stuff!..the lick at 1:17..so simple..yet i never saw it in that position..that's the fascination of seeing how other guitarist view the neck and shapes..thanks!
Very very nice Adrian, I have played this tune in one capacity or another and never thought much outside the Luther P. box I love you creativity and use of hybrid picking style over that OG arrangement, Thank you for your spot on videos and help with improving mine and your audience musicianship and guitar playing. Mark
That was kick ass! I'm not even much of a country fan, but just love this (and this style of) solo. I'm going to take a wack at it. Thanks, for all you lessons, Adrian!
No doubt - I own 15+ guitars (including LP, ES-355, Strat, more) and two of them are Tele's. I find I play the Telecasters about 75% of the time. Wide range of tone, ALWAYS stay in tune, lots of fun!
Perfect lesson as usual. I made my own simplified version I can work on, but incorporated 6th and some of your licks. Learned a lot and great fun to play. Thank you!
Thank you - I don't like and I don't play Country style stuff, but this was so enlightening, so nicely broke down into digestible pieces, that I watched through the whole thing. I still don't country, but I enjoyed seeing the little things that make it "sound country" you broke it down to. Thanks again for the great lesson!
Glad you liked it. Yes, country isn't for everyone I know. My own tastes are definitely towards the more alternative end of the country music spectrum. But I've also used a lot of these kind of concepts in other styles of music too.
I'm an advanced player and playing critic. You played that to the T. Of course, you are more advanced than I am and know what you expect. Believe me, no one else thought you messed up. Great job.
There isn't a session player, or any player for that matter in Nashville, that can play better than, or as good as you, Adrian!! Not blowing smoke, just making an educated observation. Cheers, mate!! :)
I love your lessons. I started with Stackolee and I haven't looked back. Daddystovepipe isn't bad either, but you make a lot of videos that are fair game for beginners.
One day I'll be good enough to be able to hear those 'flaws'! Dead Kennedys one week. James Burton style solo the next. And all done and explained so well. Just great.
Lots of useful tips there Adrian and very much appreciated. You played a lick using the 'd' to 'd7' shape with syncopated rhythm which is super familiar to me as I play the same sort of thing with what is basically an 'a' shape but reaching up three frets for the 7th note if it were an 'a' chord from the 5th -'e'(I hope that made sense). Madness, but I hadn't thought to cross it over, many thanks. Advert rich today, many congratulations. 😎🎙🎸✅
I had spent years using the pentatonic shapes for minor. I still remember the day I discovered being able to use the same shapes for major! I love in particular bending that 2 to a major 3rd and then plucking the root an octave above.
❤I just love this dude I wish I could have personal lessons from him unfortunately I'm in South African great stuff always a pleasure to watch your vidios
Thanks for this great lesson. I love the major pentatonic scale but I always add the flatted 3rd and then rename it my "Country Pentatonic" scale, even though it's no longer really pentatonic lol. I have to explore the CAGED system of soloing over chords a little more. Anyway, dig your channel and your lessons!
There are two reasons why Fridays are the best days:
1) Weekend
2) A new video from Adrian.
the other way around for me
almost friday baby
Adrian you are the only thing on the internet that is not completely destroying my mental health
Its awesome that a British guy has the best country lessons on youtube, cheers Adrian!
British .. wouldnt make no difference if this Guy was from New York City .. He knows his Craft .. He'a Jr Clapton In the making .
I agree these are the best country lessons on the internet right now.
Absolutely agree, this guy is a treasure.
If you guys haven’t, check out a guy named Albert Lee. He is English and he plays the fuck out of a Telecaster.
Not. He is good but can't copy american country. Ain't happening lil buddy -- period.
Just something about that telly sound that sets those great country licks on fire 🔥
You Aint a whisling Dixey Darlin .

I couldn’t agree more.

You make it look easy cause you play with such confidence which I guess comes from years of practice. Another good lesson.

Wow, that was some serious playing at the beginning!
They say, it is never too late to learn, but I don't think, I can ever learn anything like this. You have a gift from the higher powers, man. Thank you.

Loving this. If I have a bad day at work I’m going to put this on when I get home and get the guitar out. Superb!

I always know it's going to be a great lesson when Adrian plays his '52 Reissue
Not sure why but I love this dude. I learn so much from him.
The Fender Telecaster...the most versatile guitar ever made! 😎👍🏻

Yes, likewise got probably 15 or 20 guitars but you can never go wrong with a Tele in just about any style of music.
34 guitars .... of which 7 Teles .... always in tune, no issues, no mods needed
Except for as Fender Strat
@@Bronx68 give me a tele over a strat all day long....but that's me...I respect your preference bro
Perfect lesson as usual. I made my own simplified version I can work on, but incorporated 6th and some of your licks. Learned a lot and great fun to play. Thank you!
You are great. Im drinking beer and bourbon all alone in the night and listening to you. I love your videos of how to play the guitar
Thank you - I don't like and I don't play Country style stuff, but this was so enlightening, so nicely broke down into digestible pieces, that I watched through the whole thing.

Adrian what type of country guitar, amp, and pedal set ups do you use the most for country sound guitar and settings of the amps.
Thanks friend
