Hi lachri. Nice to see you doing art still. I paused doing art for a few years. But I started again. Using a different medium. I’ve gone from acrylics to oil paint to pencils and pan pastels. Nice to this tutorial. Thank you.
Alright alright… I’ve been MIA from your Patreon for a few years and here you go. Showing me my behavior has not only reduced my ability to draw and use pencil but I’m starving the puppies as well. I’ve learned my lesson. Off I go to sign back up. Didn’t have to go that far… jeez. 😊
I don't use pastel pencils at all, ever. I hate HATE the way they feel. Love the way they look but I just cant get over the dryness of them, it really weirds me out if I get them on my skin. The other bonus of using the colored pencil here is that it doesn't smudge away when I blend the background over it a bit, so I can always see my lines :) As for the line art no, that's something crafters do. For fine art I recommend you either freehand or trace the original photo. Tracing a tracing won't help you learn to draw more accurately, but tracing a photo will.
No, that's more of an individual thing. I've had people complaining about how fast I talk since I was 4 years old lol. I'm told by family that you get used to it haha.
I've mentioned this before for but try out CLAIREFONTAINE : PASTEL REVOLUTION : PASTEL FREEZER - fixative! That stuff is amazing! Thank you for your videos!
What is it that you like about it? How does it handle colored pencils? I never use just pastels so I've not researched it.

@@Lachri it completely freezes the Pastel in place. You can rub your hand in it and it does not lift almost at all. It works in Pastelmat paper. I don't know if it works with other papers. Also it doesn't chance much the colors. Some colors do turn little bit darker but usually it just add contrast

@@Lachri I made a quick review video from few old review clips I had from that Fixative. It's now on my channel the first video you see. I hope that helps

Do you have to use an air filter when using pastels due to the extra dust?
Love your work! Do you ever offer a free line drawing of your tutorials?
Is there a reason you use colored pencils instead of pastel pencils over the pan pastels?

Great tips, thanks. I have to slow the video down to keep up with what you're saying. Do Americans talk faster than Australians I wonder?
