They're gonna exploit that shit to prop up their numbers, they're gonna do it dirty like they did Helldivers 2 dirty.
The entire doll and Gehrman thing is based off of him saying use the doll if it pleases you, the doll bleeding white fluid when attacked and some suspicious noises that occur in an waking world location tied to the dream. The entire use the doll part can be explained by the fact that she is your "fire keeper" and she levels you up, so Gehrman is essentially hinting that the player should go visit her to level up. The noises, however, were found to be tied to a different location in Cathedral Ward (one of the side streets) and the devs simply moved it up into the sky without realizing it would clip into another area of the map. As for the white fluid, it might be related to one of the species/races in bloodborne - but I would have to look more into that.

@@NGEvangeliman Okay, but there's a LOT of flavor text pointing out that the doll is an effigy of his student, Lady Maria, and stating that she would not approve of what he has done to it, if she ever found out it existed. Old men don't make life sized dolls of young women that reject them, for normal healthy reasons. (I'm looking at you, over there with the vTuber dakimakura.) Further notes: The version of the doll in Gehrman's dream doesn't have Maria's hairpin comb, but it is on the inanimate original one, in The Night of the Hunt's cathedral ward. Unlike the rest of her outfit, the hairpin wasn't made by Gehrman, but stolen from Maria. Giving the hairpin to the doll in the dream completes her and gives her new memories, but leads to uncomfortable questions as to why Gehrman chooses to remember her without the stolen hairpin or those memories. Part of that is just to make the world feel big and mysterious, and part of it is so that if they need to change any story elements during development, they only have to tweak things slightly. They have built up a huge institutional skillset, for tracking all the little bits of flavor text in the game, and making things that are no longer certainly cannon into "It has been said..." clauses. It's how they get away with developing such massive worlds so quickly. Replacing a painting or a line of spoken dialogue is more expensive, so you only do that for stuff you are sure you aren't going to change, and you word things so vaguely that you can change the context to adjust their meaning. The only reason why I think Bloodborne hasn't gotten a PC port or a remaster of some kind is just straight up, Sony is afraid of money...or at the least afraid of the idea of sharing money with someone else.
Sony's approach to platform exclusives is completely centered around when they broke up with Nintendo, but got Final Fantasy in the divorce. They never want to let anything that ties a smaller company to their control out of their sight.
@@MrFelblood So it really is Sony going 'I don't care if I make a literal Dragon's horde of money, if I have to share 10% of it then it's not worth it!'
I legit think it’s because Bloodborne is unlikely to ever get a sequel. So it’s not looked at as any sort of current or continuing IP, and therefore worth the costs of porting it over. A lot of their recent PC ports were a) recent games likely made on engines that were more direct to port and b) things that are current properties or even getting sequels (which themselves didn’t go right to PC). Sony own Bloodborne, but they’re not idiots. So they know having anyone other than FromSoft make a sequel would be a huge gamble and high chance of screwing up. They’re willing to have BluePoint do a Demons Souls remake because that’s just following a blueprint. But they don’t have them add the cut zone (even as DLC) let alone expand the IP with a sequel, because making NEW stuff and getting it right is entirely different from remaking what’s already established. All that to say I could see us getting a Bloodborne remake, but not until next console gen as that would be roughly the same gap as the DeS and DeS Remake. The current game ported to PC feels like it would only happen if Sony got FromSoft on board with a sequel, and Miyazaki heavily prefers crafting new worlds over spinning wheels in existing ones.
If I remember correctly, Gehrman actually hates The Doll because he wanted her to be exactly like Lady Maria. While The Doll looks like her, she has the exact opposite personality, and Gehrman absolutely hates that

Blood Regarding Gherman and the doll, the game doesn't tell you but leave hints to let you make your own imagination's decide. One commenter I read said she could also be based on a Victorian mourning doll. Essentially a real life replica of your dead child. History is fun.
The thing about Bloodborne is that it's like the Souls games in one important aspect: basic enemies are easy to defeat if you have basic pattern recognition, but they're not weak. A basic enemy can, as long as you're in and wielding gear scaled for that part of the game, present a challenge if you're not careful. But, if there are ever multiple enemies aggro'd at the same time, if they can surround you or get you comboed even once, odds are high that you're not making it out of that fight.
At about min 15:00, it's important to remember when looking at any of the souls games that there's a myriad of interpretations of the lore that exist. These interpretations can change over time, especially with DLC or a new game in the series comes out, making a lot of older interpretations stop making sense with the new information.
The Vaati video is accurate to what the game was at the time of release, however it is outdated, because it does not include any of the lore revelations revealed in the DLC that released later that year.
I actually got the Platinum in Bloodborne. The Blood Queen is a dungeon boss you need to beat to get the platinum trophy. She's arguably one of the easiest bosses in the game. I think I hit max level too, like 540 or something and maxed out my health and blood stats. None of that helped against the Orphan of Kos
Psst: blood., and for at 14:11 the bit about vaati being inacurate, is just wrong, he’s as correct as can be from the interpretations, but also a lot of souls lore is left open and vague, so multiple things may be true, like for example a person standing on either side of the number 6 would either see 6 or 9, both are right, technically(but Vati is more correct)
Fun fact: Ibuprofen loosens up the “blood”. I know this after having a five hour nosebleed 2 years ago, because, haha, took an ibuprofen for my, minor, leg injury in the late morning, and then somehow my nose stopped nosing and decided to bleed.
13:04 regarding the vaati thing. I don’t think it’s about being inaccurate, but instead about it being incomplete. Since he never got to do lore videos about the dlc. Which is really sad, and I hope you’d check it out one day. It explains a lot of things.
Blood. Also if you do play Garfield Kart, could you do it on a Monday and the loser has to treat everyone to Lasagna at a local Italian place? NOT OLIVE GARDEN!
Bloodborne has a special place in my heart because as much as i love Max0r's editing, the time Bloodborne came out also i discovered a spanish youtuber Muzska that screamed his soul out for his videos, it was such a joy but he retired, i wish him the best wherever he is right now
15:28 I have to say that yeah, Vaati usually makes his own extrapolations but he's usually good at stating *when* he's doing so. So yeah, he goes over what's there, and then says what he thinks it means, because FromSoftware very often leave large gaps inbetween. If you ask me, I think Vaati would absolutely *welcome* alternate interpretations of the lore, because more perspectives can uncover some fascinating ideas that, according to the game itself, are equally plausible.
I think you would enjoy watching Ymfah, he makes "guides" on souls games like "How to gun only Bloodborne" or "How to beat Dark souls 3 without walking". And he's a bit of a meme lord and his videos are really well made.
the kiddy-ribs-burger is a very common iconography. kids are sacred, and cannibalism is one of the worse type of killing you can do, so if you want to strawman someone, ironically or not, you have them eating one of those. I repeat, it is VERY common
I'm convinced that Sony lost the source code for Bloodborne when they shut down Japan Studio (a Sony studio who worked with From Software to make Demon's Souls and Bloodborne) and that's why they haven't ported it to PC, PS5, and why they refuse to acknowledge its existence at all.
My honest stance about the arguments over lore in Bloodborne, and other Fromsoft games: Believe what you want. The games are deliberately vague in ways that make the story meant to be interpreted rather than followed. When people argue over whose interpretation is correct over what in the official text is a deliberate blank space, it's a waste of time.
I think those having a conniption over the lore video is due to the video coming out after the base game. He does get a couple things wrong, but that uses information that wasn't revealed until the DLC which comes out after his first lore video.
23:30 in the US you fond baby ribs everywhere. I always thought that it was weird, but it is a different culture so i don't want to be insensitive towards Muricans.
No fanfiction for the lore just prefer TBskyen since that dude does analysis of games as he plays through as a game designer so helps with stuff I didn’t notice or implied in bloodborne.
Tbf, Vaati's bloodborne videos fame out a while ago and since then mote realizations of the lore have been realized by either other youtubers deep diving or the comic books (not sure if they are canon). BUT, Vaati is pretty much the definitive source or lore accuracy for souls games.
With respect to lore on Soulsborne games (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, etc.) the important thing to understand is that there is a lot in these games that is left open to interpretation by design. Very little is explicitly stated, and even the bits that is stated outright isn't necessarily reliable. Thus, much of the information we "know" is cobbled together from bits of dialogue, item descriptions, and environmental context clues. This necessarily leaves a lot open to interpretation, and has also resulted in a sort of cottage industry of people (such as VaatiVidya) whose entire schtick is trying to make sense of the scattered bits of information. Naturally, this has also resulted in some fairly significant schisms in the community over bits of lore, as people come up with their own interpretations of what we see. And people absolutely will argue about it forever if you allow them to.
For those intrigued by the "supplementary lore material" that max0r mentions, the code numbers are literally shown on-screen in max0r's video. You can even see them in this one.
Bloodborne lore is INTENTIONALLY vague. So if anyone ever tells you something is definitely 100% canon they are lying to you. To me good analysis of Bloodborne lore is pointing to possible connections and letting everyone make up their own mind. I guess Vaati sometimes gets lost in the sauce and thinks he is the voice of god speaking the one truth. Ironically Max0r with his jokes and exaggerations probably made the most accurate lore video because you can't really take it seriously. Which is the point of lovecraftian lore.
If you’ve never played the game, then it is incredibly hard to explain to you how much “insight” can affect the world. I’m sure Vaati did a fine job but playing puts it into perspective. The doll becomes real when you gain insight not after Gherman allows you to use it. So she’s as real as anyone else. Weapons gain strength with insight or even transform and you very real.
Blood. There's a legally dubious fan-port of Bloodborne being worked on. It's not perfect but it's becoming more and more playable with every update I've seen.
when you first talk to Gehrman in the Hunter's Dream. He says 'We don't have much anymore but, you're free to use whatever you find." Then whispers "Even the doll....should it please you." what makes it creepier...is that the doll is designed to look like one of his students. Lady Maria. Gehrman was a student of Byrgenwyrth himself, and she was one of the first of the Old Hunters under his tutelage. He's an old man pining over a young woman under his tutelage. So much that he made a doll in her likeness that he encourages others to have sexual congress with....yeah....
Vaati lore is mostly accurate, it's just the video Alicia watched was made before the dlc so some info was missing. The thing is, a lot of item descriptions include phrases like "It is said..." and "It is rumored" and the like (not all), and it's not uncommon for npcs to be a part of the trope of "unrealiable narrater". In Dark Souls 1, Artorias is known as the hero who vanquished the Abyss, but the dlc (prepare to die edition/remastered on pc) reveals the truth, and while not always as dramatic, this sort of thing is not uncommon in From Software games. On top of that, some of the lore in these games are just straight up not told to the player in any way, leaving us to interpret the lore we can find, using context clues from location, the envoirment and other people in the lore, and then put the pieces together as best we can, meaing that different people CAN come up with different head canons. Vaati is the most popular story teller when it comes to the lore and it's rare for him to get the things we know as fact wrong, but for some reason, some people get salty and outright offended when his ideas don't match their own, rather than accepting that it's possible for different people to have different ideas. And given how much lore some of these games have, taking the effort of putting all the pieces together in a satisfying way AND having it all make sense doesn't always work out on the first attempt. Other lore people aren't necessarily wrong or bad, they're just different, some times just in how they choose to present the lore and nothing else, other times in how the lore is put together.
First, yes, it is very heavily implied that Gerhman does the deed with the doll seeing as she's a copy of his favorite student who he did not get to "achieve the mission" with before she died. I'm not entirely sure if the doll has squishy bits seeing as she looks like a seven foot tall porcelian doll (Heyo it's Jowol!) Second, much like with the vast majority of Fromsoft Soulsborne games, the lore is tied to largely to item descriptions and those can often be interpreted differently by the individual. Fromsoft Knows the actual lore, but they'll never confirm what is correct or not. Vaati's videos are Very accurate, but he also likes to use both the English and original Japanese descriptions alongside any cut content that he finds to more accurately sum up his videos. I'm sure there are people who find fault in that like everything else in a fandom (Just look at the RWBY fandom and how many people hate how Adam died or still believe that Pyrrha is somehow alive six Volumes later!) Third, I literally used the cheese strategy from this video to beat Micolash, cause he is *ss. Love the content, girl! See you in your next lord of the rings upload!
Alice: Jay my daughter has only been at your party for five minutes and already she wants to taste blood. Jay: But she sounds so cute when she says it. Bluud.
vaati is great overall and a great generalist channel to watch for overarching lore, but he sacrifices details and information for narritive clarity so hes like 85 to 90% correct on stuff, hes more likely to leave something out though, im pretty sure he wouldnt add anything but yeah for hardcore lore nerds it can be a little fustrating, but his video structures are still some of the best in soulsborne lore

13:04 regarding the vaati thing. I don’t think it’s about being inaccurate, but instead about it being incomplete. Since he never got to do lore videos about the dlc. Which is really sad, and I hope you’d check it out one day. It explains a lot of things.
Blood and big ups for the rat queen👑🐭
Drink blood, consume umbilical cords, kill gods and supplant them. Always love seeing folks reacting to Max0r's stuff.
"She's not sentient, is she?"
Yes. She's also Sapient, which is far more important to ask for things like these since only Sapient beings can consent.
Blood. Also if you do play Garfield Kart, could you do it on a Monday and the loser has to treat everyone to Lasagna at a local Italian place? NOT OLIVE GARDEN!
Bloodborne has a special place in my heart because as much as i love Max0r's editing, the time Bloodborne came out also i discovered a spanish youtuber Muzska that screamed his soul out for his videos, it was such a joy but he retired, i wish him the best wherever he is right now
I feel like you'd do well to watch Technoblade's Potato Wars, he's a legendary UA-camr who unfortunately passed away a couple years ago.
After beating ace combat 7 I watched the maxor video and it’s the exact same feeling. Also you should watch the ac7 vid
"Fear the old blood. By the gods, Laurence, fear it!"
Absolutely adore this game, silliness and all.
"lesson 1 in area design: Where the fuck am I going??"
Will forever be my favorite line from that fucking video xd
DUH DA DUDH DUDH DUDH SUCTION CUP MAN LOOK AT ME GO!
Btw us having bad teeth is a myth but we do absolutely have crooked teeth. The nhs doesnt cover braces its considered a cosmetic procedure
Crooked teeth = bad teeth
@Evan-k no our teeth are actually healthier they are not bad just not attractive
@@arthurgoonie4596 not attractive = bad
"Okay, but isn't that just Chronos pilled?"
With a side of Lovecraftian sprinkles, cuz if you don't do it you can't get the true ending.😂
90% of the bloodborne community has gone mad from lack of attention.
When people argue over whose interpretation is correct over what in the official text is a deliberate blank space, it's a waste of time.
going from vaatividya to maxor is like giving sour candy to a pilgrim
I think those having a conniption over the lore video is due to the video coming out after the base game. He does get a couple things wrong, but that uses information that wasn't revealed until the DLC which comes out after his first lore video.
23:30 in the US you fond baby ribs everywhere. I always thought that it was weird, but it is a different culture so i don't want to be insensitive towards Muricans.
Shoutout to Maxor for putting me onto Femboy Fishing. Good channel, cute femboy, good fishing.
FINALLY!!!! THIS IS MY FAVORITE MAXOR VIDEO AND I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO WATCH IT EVER SINCE YOU REACTED THE FIRST TIME YAYAYAYAY
BLOOD!!!!!! hello, I'm a Warhammer 40k fan. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk today
Yes, more Max0r 🧀
Blood 🐀
Fun fact, this video was posted just a few days before Prince Phillip's death
“Consume innards “ gave so many Claymore anime vibes
I’ve been forward to ya reacting to this video for like a year
Random commenter that said it seemed like a modest proposal when the baby sandwich was being talked about, I saw you and appreciate you
No fanfiction for the lore just prefer TBskyen since that dude does analysis of games as he plays through as a game designer so helps with stuff I didn’t notice or implied in bloodborne.
Vadi is pretty much the go to for From Software Lore, but fans are pretty polarizing, he's great especially for a starter into Lore
The funny part about the lore section is that its technically correct.
Also fear the Old Blood.
Blood will run like a river in a lake of death and destruction, kinda like when you're having Taco Bell
Y'all know it's good when Alicia reacts to Max0r.
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
Man, a video from three years ago on Blood borne from maxor NOT melting my brain is something I'm not used to.
Crazy how hyped Alicia got about Garfield Kart
Tbf, Vaati's bloodborne videos fame out a while ago and since then mote realizations of the lore have been realized by either other youtubers deep diving or the comic books (not sure if they are canon). BUT, Vaati is pretty much the definitive source or lore accuracy for souls games.
Sometimes, when rats get stressed, they will eat their babies. So you can't say eating babies is off limits for this community.
I swear I was just watching Alicia's older Maxor's reactions
For those intrigued by the "supplementary lore material" that max0r mentions, the code numbers are literally shown on-screen in max0r's video. You can even see them in this one.
To start, BLOOD
Second, i fear how many watchlists Max0r is on based solely on his search history for all the memes he uses
He says 'We don't have much anymore but, you're free to use whatever you find." Then whispers "Even the doll....should it please you."
what makes it creepier...is that the doll is designed to look like one of his students.
I'm not entirely sure if the doll has squishy bits seeing as she looks like a seven foot tall porcelian doll (Heyo it's Jowol!)
Second, much like with the vast majority of Fromsoft Soulsborne games, the lore is tied to largely to item descriptions and those can often be interpreted differently by the individual. Fromsoft Knows the actual lore, but they'll never confirm what is correct or not. Vaati's videos are Very accurate, but he also likes to use both the English and original Japanese descriptions alongside any cut content that he finds to more accurately sum up his videos. I'm sure there are people who find fault in that like everything else in a fandom (Just look at the RWBY fandom and how many people hate how Adam died or still believe that Pyrrha is somehow alive six Volumes later!)
Third, I literally used the cheese strategy from this video to beat Micolash, cause he is *ss.
Love the content, girl! See you in your next lord of the rings upload!
Alice: Jay my daughter has only been at your party for five minutes and already she wants to taste blood.
Jay: But she sounds so cute when she says it. Bluud.
vaati is great overall and a great generalist channel to watch for overarching lore, but he sacrifices details and information for narritive clarity so hes like 85 to 90% correct on stuff, hes more likely to leave something out though, im pretty sure he wouldnt add anything
but yeah for hardcore lore nerds it can be a little fustrating, but his video structures are still some of the best in soulsborne lore
I love the fact that someone in chat thought amouranth was the band Amon Amarth.
No... that girl... in the thumbnail... No... No... NOOOO!!! IT CANT BE!!!! 😱😱😱😱
She should react to Death Battle videos because the animations are very good, and the music is awesome. Also, they do a lot of research, and sometimes you will learn something new about a character. The first one I suggest is Bowser vs. Dr. Eggman; it's a great start to the Death Battle community. Plus, we can tell you which ones you can watch since there are spoilers for the characters that they have covered.
