Today it is Remembrance Day here in the Netherlands and as usual on this day I play the whole soundtrack (with Itzhak Perlman on violin) but this recording is almost as special as this one. "Remember what's been given, not taken away".
Itzhak Perlman, who did the solo on the original soundtrack album, said he could not believe this was not written by a Jew. But of course, Steven Speilberg was the producer and director of this film, and he was obviously able to convey to Williams exactly what he wanted.
