Proud of this black man. Never judge a book by its cover. This is a lesson for all of the George Zimmerman's out there. They underestimate us because of our skin. Sick of it.
I agree. Hopefully one day we change the narrative of what the book should look like and just see the beautiful souls of all people. This young man is one of them.
I think Chris Smalls is one of the most important men alive right now. What resonates with me is his strength and resilience coupled with kindness. Like, this man clearly has the courage and fierceness of a lion, but he still has empathy and compassion. Seems like today there are so many people who are bold but only for themselves. I love how Chris understood he should collaborate with people in this movement. He didn't leave anyone out and celebrated everyone. The ALU rallies honestly remind me of the Rainbow Coalition that Fred Hampton had. Mr. Smalls gives me so much hope for our future.
I love that he came in his normal attire. Keep judging a book by its cover and by stereotypes, instead of hearing the actual voice of a person. You instantly hand over the advantage.
Most definitely I let them think whatever they want to I’m from the show me state that’s my go to motto cause you’ll never convince them otherwise they want to dismiss you but action speaks louder besides talking the talk or walking the walk you just have to SHOW ME cause words will never ever hurt me
Now that they have a Union, all Amazon employees need to keep a card on them with their weingarten Rights. Your most powerful weapon is being able to tell an entitled manager to kick rocks about a "quick chat" to punish the worker for a mistake that corporate made. Unions = job security. Unions = accountability.
Interesting that the super rich are rarely generous to their employees. Bezos is the prime example of how trickle down economics does not work. His greed just expands as his empire grows. So glad to see this union success!! 👍
It's called capitalism. Capitalists are not necessarily evil (some are), it is the system that says that you are supposed to make as much profits for 'growth, growth, growth' and by any means necessary and that often involves paying people as little as they legally can. A company that does not grow/expand is often seen as being unsuccessful although they may actually be quite profitable.
This is the reason we need to stop judging and get to know people. This guy has worked for Amazon all them years and couldn’t get anything better than a supervisor that in itself is Shameful. In the end no matter the outcome He’s Won..
Netflix coming with a documentary now...I guess Amazon prime won't like it. Great job Mr Smalls! I wish us healthcare workers across this nation would unionized too.

Some states have and it is still an uphill battle because most of the money goes to insurance companies and not health care facilities and their workers.
This is indeed a David and Goliath moment. Hopefully, the workers he helped, will not forget him or move him out of the way for some slick smooth talking lobbyist politician!
You do realize that story makes no sense.....Goliath stood no chance against David with that slingshot, considering they were not fighting close to each other.
Worker’s rights have been diminished so much over the years. Hopefully this is just the beginning and helps us turn it around. Bring the ALU over to California. Y’all will be real close to Tesla too. We need this energy there too.
@David Williamson with robotics its either we the masses could never work again and live in a utopia or the rich could own the robots and never need us again there is a reckoning. its up to the workers of the world to come together before that and put aside war boarders and differences

I've worked for Nestlé for a long time and i can verify that amazon is not a one off company in this way. There was an employee working at Nestle who was fired for peeing in a sink on the floor, but he did so because he didn't have a chance to go to the restroom. I was personally yelled at and berated for taking one of 3 breaks (having skipped the other two) that i was supposedly entitled to. There were days where I didn't take a break at all, no lunch either. Then when something happened to the factory , and our line has to be rebuilt , after everything i put into working for them, the first time as a supervisor, and the second time as an operator, they put me back in a position that most temps never even have to do after training and said they had no choice but to cut my pay $7.00 an hour. They continued to call me when i stopped going and i contemplated keeping my job there , as i needed the money. However after clocking in at 300 in the morning and leaving at 4pm, getting breaks that can't even be considered breaks , and after helping to install a line And writing standards at the level a supervisor's supervisor would normally do without any of the benefits, you get tired. Especially when they seem to have such a short memory, or none at all on the work you have done for them. I finally decided to quit, as i couldn't force myself to wake up at one in the morning any longer to do a job that i hate and that i believed i had worked my way out of having to do. They will cheat and use you at every corner and have no regard for their employees. This guy is amazing !!
Home Depot isn't much better. One day I was threatened with being written up for taking a bathroom break after six uninterrupted hours. The next -- literally -- I was written up for not taking a lunch break until six hours in. There was no one else in my slammed department. I could also have been written up for telling a customer I couldn't help them. We were frequently scheduled for shifts as late as midnight while having to be in at 5A.M. the next day. This was called "flexible work hours", which is often touted in retail as an advantage for workers. On my training and orientation day, we skipped lots of the material we were interested in so they could pay us for less than the scheduled 8 hours we were promised, but spent 2 full hours on the evils of unions. All managers and HR came in for the union discussion and they took names of everyone who had ever belonged to a union previously. Large corporations, despite the SCOTUS ruling that they are entitled to the same rights as people, have no souls. Kudos to Chris Smalls, and thank you from all workers who desperately need unions.
Chris Smalls is an amazing organizer. Love that he is so direct and unapologetically himself. Also, some people who work in Amazon warehouse are homeless? How is this possible? While Jeff Bezos flies to space for millions of dollars workers at Amazon are homeless?
Amazon isn’t an outlier - Walmart and McDonalds are the top employers of people on food stamps, despite being some of the largest and most profitable companies.
Now that would be to Amazon's advantage that most of Amazon employees are homeless....considering the inhumane way they operate.....no need to go home...sic...!!
Bezos fly to the moon , cause he's got the money to fly , according to him , he didnt make anyone homeless and according to him , he's providing jobs for people who needs such jobs. CAPITALISM
First time hearing about this guy. What a cool dude. His heart for the workers really touched me as I watched this. Kudos to him. Wishing him the best of luck.

Unions are still very much needed. Those 12 hour days are brutal and are not about caring for people. I was always in the union and so were my parents. People need to be respected and protected from institutions that are not sympathetic to their workers. Hats off to Chris Smalls!
An absolute inspiring man. I work as a supervisor for a big name company and have always believed in working for the people and not for the company. You have sent a precedent in how the working people have to stand for their rights. So much respect for this man.
I think that's part of what had made him so successful. He is so genuine. Plus that jacket is amazing. I loved how when he met with the leaders of the establishment unions, he wore his regular clothes while they were in suits. He is so savvy and I've never seen someone so intuitively understand how to affect change. So glad I get to watch this journey.

@@Serialkoala I agree with this wholeheartedly. Every government elected position should have limited terms. 5 years term limit and not more than 2 terms

@@lynnarthur_stillkickin2024 yes they would try to drag anyone that attempted this but the comment was the way they dragged HIM was so racist. Hearing Chris talk about the internal workings of the factory sounded super dystopian. I personally boycotted Amazon a couple of years ago when I heard the peeing in bottles thing. Haven't bought anything from there since, at my own inconvenience.
I boycotted Amazon 3 yrs ago when I found out that they didn't pay local and very little state taxes. They use our public roads, transportation, police etc. Get tax subsidies but can't help the community and the infrastructure by paying local and state taxes. Not to mention the treatment of their workers. SHAME. I will not support a company with absolutely no morality.
This man needs to get into politics. He’s a man who cares about what’s right. He’s a fighter, and winning beating Amazon is great on his track record. That’s refreshing. Keep going, young man.
I'm from Jersey and know so many people that work in the Robinsville & Burlington warehouses and how people are treated is disgusting. Nj is an at will state so they can pretty much fire you for no reason and after 18 you are not required to have any breaks at all. He's not lying sister lost 30lbs and developed severe carpal tunnel because of how hard they work you.

President Small's Mother was right! His voice was meant for something else. He has become an example of hope for working people. Dignity, Solidarity, Respect!

I love all the comments! Thank you Chris Smalls for taking on Goliath the giant and Trevor for doing what's proper and giving this man a platform to continue to inspire and motivate the people.
Literally one of the least expected people to take on Amazon. Highly intelligent, full of confidence, and gold teeth, who dresses like it’s 2005. Gotta love it!
THATS WHAT IM SAYING HE MADE IT LOOK LIKE ITS NO SWEAT TO ACHIEVE WHAT HE ACHIEVED!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. I have so much respect for this young man!
Never heard the crowd roar so loudly for a guest. A living, breathing, legend!!
Trevor was genuinely hyped too🌹

This young man who organized Amazon workers has a heart of pure gold! He is both a genius and a hero!
Chris Smalls appears to be a well-rounded individual. I like him. I hope he continues his journey to help workers
Takes grit and courage to do what Mr. Smalls has done. He’s a hero for working class people. Well done!
Proud of this black man. Never judge a book by its cover. This is a lesson for all of the George Zimmerman's out there. They underestimate us because of our skin. Sick of it.
🎯
Preach!!
@@men.276 I agree
I love that he came in his normal attire. Keep judging a book by its cover and by stereotypes, instead of hearing the actual voice of a person. You instantly hand over the advantage.

Yes! Nothing, but blessings to this young man. He stood up for what he believed, and won!
I love his common sense. Thank you for fighting for the people Chris!
Ironic that this man’s last name is “smalls” and he beat the biggest company in the world.
A true David and Goliath story.
Luv ur comment!

Interesting that the super rich are rarely generous to their employees. Bezos is the prime example of how trickle down economics does not work. His greed just expands as his empire grows. So glad to see this union success!! 👍
You don't become a Billionaire hundreds of times over without exploiting people along the way.
Valid
Well, the rich have long had the saying that "you don't get rich by giving your money away"... so...
It's called capitalism.
Capitalists are not necessarily evil (some are), it is the system that says that you are supposed to make as much profits for 'growth, growth, growth' and by any means necessary and that often involves paying people as little as they legally can. A company that does not grow/expand is often seen as being unsuccessful although they may actually be quite profitable.
its sick
This is the reason we need to stop judging and get to know people. This guy has worked for Amazon all them years and couldn’t get anything better than a supervisor that in itself is Shameful. In the end no matter the outcome He’s Won..
I’m proud of him!!! …and the people who supported him.
Kudos and thanks to Mr. Smalls’ mother who schooled him that his voice was meant for something else. That is a lesson to all parents.😀❤️
Netflix coming with a documentary now...I guess Amazon prime won't like it.
Great job Mr Smalls! I wish us healthcare workers across this nation would unionized too.
I was just thinking the same thing.
Amen!!!!
And what exactly would that "unity" fight for?? MORE FORCING THE WORKERS TO INJECT WHATEVER SHHH INTO THEIR BODIES OVER BEING FIRED??? What a joke #MAGBITTERTRUTH #MAGUGLYTRUTH #MAGDISTURBINGTRUTH
Some states have and it is still an uphill battle because most of the money goes to insurance companies and not health care facilities and their workers.
You can! Isn’t there a healthcare worker shortage because of burnout during the pandemic? Sounds like you have the upper hand to unionize right now.
This is indeed a David and Goliath moment. Hopefully, the workers he helped, will not forget him or move him out of the way for some slick smooth talking lobbyist politician!
I hope they don’t give their power back by get union officers that can be bought by management.
You do realize that story makes no sense.....Goliath stood no chance against David with that slingshot, considering they were not fighting close to each other.
Yeap Absolutely !!!

Worker’s rights have been diminished so much over the years. Hopefully this is just the beginning and helps us turn it around. Bring the ALU over to California. Y’all will be real close to Tesla too. We need this energy there too.

We need unions everywhere across the world solidarity amongst the working class 🙏
@David Williamson with robotics its either we the masses could never work again and live in a utopia or the rich could own the robots and never need us again there is a reckoning.
its up to the workers of the world to come together before that and put aside war boarders and differences

We need more of Chris Smalls all over the world to take on these abusive cooperations. Indeed we need a new economic order the greedy millionaires, billionaires big thieves need to be stopped

Sounds like you need to talk to Chris!
Chris Smalls is an amazing organizer. Love that he is so direct and unapologetically himself. Also, some people who work in Amazon warehouse are homeless? How is this possible? While Jeff Bezos flies to space for millions of dollars workers at Amazon are homeless?
crazy! i had no idea!!
Amazon isn’t an outlier - Walmart and McDonalds are the top employers of people on food stamps, despite being some of the largest and most profitable companies.
@@alexandraa5424 it's shameful.
CAPITALISM

At the ending you can tell Trevor is so proud of him and appreciate what he’s done! Great job Smalls
First time hearing about this guy. What a cool dude. His heart for the workers really touched me as I watched this. Kudos to him. Wishing him the best of luck.

Guys like him should be the rockstars in this world! Who else is fighting for working class America?
Jimmy Hoffa, but they killed him.

Unions are still very much needed. Those 12 hour days are brutal and are not about caring for people. I was always in the union and so were my parents. People need to be respected and protected from institutions that are not sympathetic to their workers. Hats off to Chris Smalls!
Unions have alot power 🔋
Yup. A country with all unions is called communism.
An absolute inspiring man. I work as a supervisor for a big name company and have always believed in working for the people and not for the company. You have sent a precedent in how the working people have to stand for their rights. So much respect for this man.
Great human, for real. Makes me proud to share the world with you.
I'm also glad that he came dressed as himself and not anyone else!
Same here, proud he represented "take me for who I am". Priceless.
He didn't play into respectability politics❤️
Seriously I want that jacket! Lol!
I love that as well
I remembered when he started with Amazon. So proud of the group accomplishments.
Before the video ended, I was looking for words to describe this man. Words like wise, articulate, determined were jostling for my use until Trevor supplied it: this guy is LEGEND!

Amazing glad you brought his story to your platform. Don't underestimate a young black man.
I’M SO VERY GLAD TO SEE HIM GET WHAT HE STARTED OUT TO DO! BUT EVERY COMPANY NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTED FOR THEIR TREATMENT AND MISTREATMENT OF WORKERS!
Congrats to Mr. Smalls...!!! This is awesome...!!! Also, let it be known that companies like Amazon & Wal-Mart are fully unionized in countries like Germany, where the government strongly supports unions, & they are still very profitable. So there's absolutely no reason why they can't also be unionized in the USA as well. 👍 👍 👍
Unions used to be very popular in the US it was only until recently the popularity has declined

Great informative interview. Mr. Smalls is smart and confident.
Chris a hero. The level of racism, to imply this man is in anyway less then is sickening, and sadly not uncommon.
I worked as supervisor for Amazon for 5 years. No security for employees is right. Peak season hired thousands and fired thousands afterwards. I was accused of being to personable. I quit once I seen they were attempting to replace me with someone with less compassion. Best move for me.
I LOVE ITTTTT!!!!! This is truly inspiring! So happy for him and I pray everything he’s fighting for comes to pass! All these companies need to be reevaluated!!!
The way Amazon tried to drag this guy was so racist.
Yeah! But he showed them
Thats what thsy do.
Amazon would be dragging down anyone who’s goal is to organize their workers. As an employer…Amazon created an inhumane workplace - so an ex-employee (who happened to be black) had the courage to step up and protect the rights of all employees. Bravo to Chris Smalls 👏
@@lynnarthur_stillkickin2024 yes they would try to drag anyone that attempted this but the comment was the way they dragged HIM was so racist. To just state that they would drag anyone doesn't necessarily mean they would do it in a racist way but the way they did it to him was. Racism should be acknowledged and called out. Not overlooked as just a tactic that should be accepted
@@lynnarthur_stillkickin2024 that comment was unnecessary. We know they would drag anyone who attempted to unionize. The way in which they went about it changed because of the racist stereotypes they tried to use when demeaning his character. That was the point you missed.

Hearing Chris talk about the internal workings of the factory sounded super dystopian. I personally boycotted Amazon a couple of years ago when I heard the peeing in bottles thing. Haven't bought anything from there since, at my own inconvenience.
That's right!
Love Chris! HATE Amazon!! #PowertothePeople

No not politics...they would frustrate him.
If he gets into politics, they gon hold his voice.
Unionizing these companies (Wal-Mart & Dollar General employees want his help, too) is political enough.
Chris Smalls is a hero!
And please don't forget that favortism is out of control there. All the slackers get recognized while the hard workers get passed by for upper positions.
The "at will" clause also helps them get rid of workers who are injured. I've seen people fired (at HD) as they were on the way to report an injury.
"Putting the workers in the driver seat" POWERFUL
Mr. Smalls is an amazing and inspiring guy taking on those corporate management. I can relate. I have had some strict bosses in my work life, that I particularly don't care for.
