With denitrification occurring first and nitrification happening later, won't there be an excessive amount of nitrates and nitrates that never get treated? The foma; clarification step will not get rid of them. Furthermore, won't there be a limited amount of nitrates and nitrates in the influent stream, limiting the amount of dentrification that occurs in the first stage?
