I can ride my bike for 10 minutes and be at Lake Superior. There’s a nice park and sometimes I’ll go down to that park and sit on the swings and watch the sunset behind Canada. And then watch the blinking lights on the Canadian wind turbines and the freighters. The freighters are so much cooler to see at night because the way the lights reflect off the water make it look like there’s an underwater city. And when all the leaves fall off the trees I can look out my bedroom window and see Canada behind the trees. Sometimes I’ll even go across town to the docks at night so I can bring my bike on the dock without having to worry about dodging people, and I’ll sit and watch Canada and their traffic. Just looking at the water and listening to it can be so wonderful. Another favorite is all the canals off it we have, the canals run so quickly the water makes a soothing rushing sound, our city built the nice long sidewalks along the canal so whenever I ride my bike on it I’ll stop sit on my bike take off my headphones and just listen. The only thing that compares to that feeling is sitting in the woods listing to the leaves ruffle so loud like they’re trying to tell you something.

That’s like a mini ocean 🌊 wow 😮 it should be called Superior Sea. Lake doesn’t do it justice.
Take a listen to "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". Its a true story of one such ship. "The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her."
1975 i always that it was older than that
As a Michigan native and resident, we are very proud of our Great Lakes in our great nation. 🇺🇸
THE ANIMATION is so beautiful and mesmerizing ❤😮
I swam in this lake before and it was freezing as a Michigander I am lucky I get to do stuff like this
Especially cuz the upper peninsula suppose to belong to Wisconsin.
@@EduardoScobarnobody likes Wisconsin. Be gone Wisconsinite!
@@EduardoScobar I never knew that Ty for telling me !
I'm from Michigan. Hello everyone! The great lakes are really rough some days, from what I've seen (I live in Clare county in Central MI, but I've seen several)
Greetings! I grew up just south in Mt Pleasant in the 70's, and now live 5 miles from Lake Huron in the Thumb.
This is great information 👏 👌 👍
It's incorrect. Lake baikal in Russia is the world's largest freshwater lake
Lake Superior White Fish, OUTSTANDING!!!
I often forget how blessed we are here in North America to have these massive (and majestic) essential lakes, thanks for the reminder
I live on Lake Ontario and there is about 4-5 sunken ships in my area (one of them I can see from my window because part of it sticks out of the water)
Gordon Lightfoot had a famous son about a ship that sank on lake Superior called the Edmond Fitzgerald.
Lived in Michigan one Autumn and the wind was cold tonthe bone like i had never felt before. Left not long after Halloween. The people who live there are strong.
As someone from Michigan, I appreciate that it’s mid October right now and about 50° still T-shirt and short weather for most people here
SE Michigander here. Can confirm this fact. And wearing t shirt and shorts in October
I'm from the U.P. and it was 76 degrees just a couple days ago, we would have went swimming if we had the day free.
Buy yeah... once I spent a winter in western/southern Japan and when I came home in April even then it felt like I was drifting in the cold vacuum of space or something. We get so used to it normally that by spring here 45 degrees is good enough for t-shirts if the sun is shining.
(Now I suppose someone will chime in and tell me space is not actually cold or hot)
Visited Lake Superior at Killbear Provincial Park. The water is so clear it's crazy!
I drive past Lake Superior everyday and it is just gorgeous and sometimes i forget that not everyone gets to see such an amazing lake like this everyday
the searchers all say she'd have made whitefish bay if she'd put fifteen more miles behind her..
They might have split up or they might have capsized...
Fun fact : All 6 of the great lakes were once 1 lake.
When were there 6 lakes? I grew up in Indiana near Lake Michigan. Did the lakes separate?
@@dickie9748 The 6th lake is the Slave lake(named after the Slave people not slaves) way up to the north west of the other great lakes. Like at least 40% of Canada used to be an ocean or the world's largest lake. Now only the deepest parts of that lake remain as the 6 great lakes of north america. Though since 5 of them are so close together and still connected. It's often said as the five great lake because not many people realize the 6th exist or is part of the same original body of water because of how far away it is.
I did not know the waves could get that high
Pretty cool going on glass bottom boats and seeing the remains. Love going to Lake Superior--either on UP side or on Canadian side; it truly should be one of the 7 wonders of the world. Gorgeous.
Gitche Gumee never gives up her dead ....🇨🇦 Love living on Superior ! 🌊
The most famous shipwreck is the Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank November of 1967
Actually, she sank in 1975.
@@meme9492 I knew I was off by a lot. Thanks.
i guess the song came out in 1975
I go to this lake once a year. The water is always cold no matter the time of year.
That’s actually not true, where I grew up on lake Superior. In Duluth Mn, depending on the direction of the wind, the water can literally be downright balmy. But yea, you can be down at Park Point, which is almost exactly like being at a beach on the ocean, with sand and dunes and all, lying in the hot sun and swimming in the warm water, when suddenly the wind shifts and it’ll drop 25-30 degrees in the air and the water becomes freezing!
It’s pretty crazy.
Could you make a video about La Nina and El Nino?
Yes pls.. they are major factor that governs these climate change disasters.
We have property on Lake Superior. It is in Whitefish Bay and we have been to Whitefish Point multiple times to look for rocks.
Make videos please I love them about our country and how it evolved !!!!!!!!!!! Please when you have time
Isn't it Lake Baikal in Russian Federation 🇷🇺 is the largest freshwater lake?
Baikal is the 6th largest freshwater body of water. It is the deepest though.
By volume, not by surface area.
@@metalsurgeon9196and what is needed from freshwater body, length or volume?
@@Mirrus_we only care about volume so baikal wins
@unbendedurchin1821 nobody cares about volume...
@ MrBedrock15 Lake Superior is larger than Lake Baikal.
Lake Michigan too. Baikal is the 6th largest freshwater lake, but it is the deepest.
@@fromulusholds the most too, but still both are impressivr
This is so interesting. I love learning about big ships and big water boats are cool
o yea i live there. pretty cool.
As a wisconsinite am proud of our Great Lakes they are awesome in beauty and size and great asset.
Many don't realize just how crazy the weather and waves can actually get on the great lakes
One the most beautiful crystal clear lakes in the summer m.
Sweet vid. This is what I like about YT shorts. Thanks to who makes this
Great knowledge shared 🤔👍🏻
I grew up in Thunder Bay watching the lake change seasons. It's intense being near it. It's definitely obvious that things have happened there. You feel it in your bones.
crow: Ah🗣️🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️
That one song by Gordan Lightfoot comes to mind..
I live VERY close to the majestic enormous Lake Superior. It’s GORGEOUS
Wow, coming from Greece, this is all so fascinating to me. We live by the actual sea and don't even need to worry about such big waves.
Just seen a reel about this lake so intriguing how crazy the waves pound against the reef & it’s a lake. Amazing!
You are so talented and skillful person. I admire your presentaion
Lotta cool history around this twice glacier-visited area. Abandoned copper mine...coral preserved in a unique stone...just really cool like all of God's stories.
❤
It's the best lake to go swimming in. It has the best beaches
Lived in munising mi for a good chunk of my life, the glass bottom boat tours that take you out on lake superior lets you see quite a few wrecked ships and stuff. Its dope af💯❤️🔥
I swim it at least twice every year! Spectacular!
I like the animations you do while teaching us cool facts. Thank you
I'm very proud of American people using a proper measurement system
The great lakes are honestly more like freshwater seas than lakes.
Most beautiful body of water in the world by far. The Eastern side of the keweenaw peninsula is gorgeous
Make a video about empires that would be great
Please, please, please
