I've been looking for some new reads! Thanks, Thu!
The last book is the masterpiece. Add all to my wishlist! I love your videos! Please, more videos like this! Thanks ❤
thanks for the recommendations :)
Best video helpful fir me❤❤
Thank you
Yep,I’m searching these types of books, thanks
*First 50 seconds on notification. Hi Thu Vu. So happy to watch this video. Thank you for sharing recommendation about best AI books yo read in 2024. Keep it up! 💻🥪🍵*
More books to add to my 'to get and actually read' list. Thank you.
Ai a modern approach goes into the technicals.. interesting list ❤
Thanks again, Thu Vu. :)
Looks like a great list for delving into the ethical and philosophical side of AI. Amazing to see the last book is still going!
I hadn't heard of "Power and Progress" and "The Alignment Problem", so thanks for this video.
Some other books that look worth reading and that I have on my to-read list are the following:
* Stephen Wolfram: What Is ChatGPT Doing ... and Why Does It Work? (2023). This is a narrow topic (it's also a short book), but since ChatGPT has been making such waves ...
* J. Storrs Hall: AI: Creating the Conscience of the Machine (2007). People seem to have forgotten this book because it looks old in AI terms.
* Dan McQuillan: Resisting AI: An Anti-fascist Approach to Artificial Intelligence (2022). A book that goes against the current hype. Don't be put off by the (anti-)f-word in the title.
* Kate Crawford: Atlas of AI: Power, Politics, and the Planetary Costs of Artificial Intelligence (2022). For those who want to know about the environmental cost of AI. Strictly speaking, that should be all of us.
Really appreciate your book recommendations! Looks so interesting, I’ll check them out. Thank you for taking the time 🤗🙌
Thanks!
Thank you.
half of them have been sitting on my list for years. they all sound soo interesting, but also so dense to read in your free time after working on AI related stuff all day/week :/
Than you very much
*The Two Faces of Tomorrow* (1979) by James P Hogan
He worked for DEC way back when.
My Bucketlist for 2024
00:24 📖 "Life 3.0" by Max Tegmark explores the evolution of life through three stages: biological, cultural, and technological, discussing the potential impact of artificial general intelligence (AGI) on humanity.
01:53 🚀 "Superintelligence" by Nick Bostrom examines the concept of intelligence explosion and the risks associated with the development of superintelligent AI.
03:43 🌊 "The Coming Wave" by Mustafa Suleyman discusses the rapid advancements in technology, particularly AI, and its potential societal impacts, emphasizing the need for global collaboration.
05:23 💡 "Power and Progress" by Daron Acemoglu and Simon Johnson explores the relationship between technology, prosperity, and societal progress, highlighting the potential for technological advancements to exacerbate inequality.
07:47 🤝 "Human Compatible" by Stuart Russell addresses the challenge of designing AI systems aligned with human values, proposing principles for ensuring AI safety.
10:33 🎯 "The Alignment Problem" by Brian Christian examines bias, fairness, and transparency in AI, discussing ethical implications and challenges in building fair machine learning systems.
AI extracted wrong timestamps and missed some books, humans still not obselete :P
@@kovatembel Indeed. Your carefully made summary is so better than mine. And I thought you are just a boy being smart from daddy's basement. My bad.
@@dameanvil didn't mean to offend you. Take care
I’ve been trying to figure out what to read, I have an engineering and programming background and I wanted to avoid “what if “ type philosophy books. I appreciate your thoughts here 😊
Yes ❤
Thanks for the reviews, I will definitively check some out. This whole debate about AI ethics gives me more feeling of the transhumanism movement then computer science.
Good selection here I haven't heard of before. Any chance you have a list of fiction featuring AI?
Nice
I couldn't help but wonder, where is Ray Kurzweil? Thanx for the reads
Haha, I should've indeed included Ray Kurzweil's books in this list too
@@Thuvu5 Brave New Words by Salman Kahn, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and Superintelligence I also added to my list from recommendations by Gates and Altman.
🎉🎉🎉
What about courses ? On Ai
I thought you had found AI-written books worth reading. I was like, "no way..." But that's not what you meant.
Haha I guess we’re not there just yet 😅
Humans are biased and irrational, (war), Also, the key to life is to be flexible and adaptable. Good luck AI.
Funny, most of those books are filled with negativity of A.I........... Ah, we humans!! 🤣🤣
em chao chi
My school ai book is better 😂
Most of these are philosophy books with little practical information.
You are probably not wrong, but if your goal is practical information, you should read a textbook or a manual.
@@wenhanzhou5826 that would be the list that really matters.
Philosophy is the study of knowledge and systems of thought.
If you don't see how that applies to building cognitive systems...
@@geekazoid47 Correct, I don't and it doesn't. Feel free to delude yourself, if you see fit to do so. Philosophy is a useless waste of time, but it can be a fine hobby for people who enjoy that sort of thing.
They are all religious books, nothing about using the a.i.
could you please suggest another book?
@@keixi512 I doubt they were written as the tech is changing too fast.
Huh? I’ve read two of those books-The Alignment Problem & Human Compatible-and they covered little detail about religion. Fkn 🤖 🤖 🤖 comment 🤣

I see she still hasn’t gotten a job.
