This was so helpful! You have a great voice for teaching. Could you possibly upload without the background music? It was very hard for me to concentrate and really get all the information you were sharing with it playing over you. Thanks!
This was totally helpful. Do you feel like you have to be really involved as an educator? And how would I incorporate my younger ones ages 3-8? Or do they need a different core? I really don’t want to have to do separate cores.
I'm guessing based on your other videos that you decided not to use this curriculum. Do you care to share why? There are so many great ones. I was just curious. Thanks
How long have you used Sonlight and do you use their LA? I am thinking of switching to Sonlight in the 2022/23 school year for 2nd grade with my 7yo (8 in Sept) who absolutely loves to read on her own and with me reading aloud; sounds like Sonlight was made for us!! But I'm struggling with which HBL to go with and whether to do LA2 or LA 3. Any suggestions or tips?
I’ve used their LA in grade 2, I wanted a slower pace from ABeka so I tried it. It was very light. It didn’t seem to really get into language arts in depth. Which for me was fine for grade 2, and my kid was ahead by far from ABeka…hence the break. However, I didn’t feel like it was the best. Now compared to say BJU English, which I used for grade 3, BJU was very thorough and easy to teach but much more information. So for my LA minded child it all worked, ABeka, sonlight and BJU, but they all were lacking in teaching how to write and form your thoughts and form successful paragraphs. So I’m trying EIW for LA & writing this year. Anyway,, back to sonlight. I am considering the grade 3 LA with my child who is less interested in writing and long lessons and likes math over everything else! But they’ll do reading with All about reading still. So I hope that gives you an idea. I suggest printing off their free 3 week schedule for LA and trying it out! I will say, it is easy to follow and can be fun. My only issue is that I have a different idea of what literature is always age appropriate and so I did choose a 4 day week for my then 2nd grader and was able to eliminate the 1-2 books I didn’t care for. Also take into consideration the child’s reading level for the texts provided. I hope that helps, sorry if it’s too long. Good luck!
Would be really interested to hear your thoughts/review from using this. Are you still using Sonlight? What did you like or didn’t like? Thank you again.

I think your kids could do this all together. The mom does need to be involved.
@@AliciaHutchinson thank you!! about how long do you feel like it takes to get through a day’s requirements for your family?
The overpowering music makes your video impossible for me to watch.

I just had settled on other things as my main curriculum, but we read and love the titles in this pack!
