Welcome back to our channel. Today, we have an adorable project for you - an elegant Button Placket Net Baby Frock with Flounce Sleeve and Ruffle Trim, featuring a Lapel Collar. If you’re excited to create a beautiful outfit for your little one, stay tuned because we’re going to show you how to cut and stitch this lovely frock step by step.
Materials:
• Net fabric
• Lining fabric
• Matching thread
• Buttons
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Sewing machine
• Iron
• Pins
Step 1: Taking Measurements
Start by taking your baby’s measurements for the chest, waist, and length. Use these measurements to create a pattern for your frock.
Step 2: Cutting the Fabric
Using your pattern, cut the net fabric for the frock and the lining fabric. Remember to add seam allowances to your net fabric and cut out the lapel collar as well.
Step 3: Lapel Collar
Sew the lapel collar to the lining fabric. Trim the seam allowance, turn it right side out, and press it flat.
Step 4: Ruffle Trim
Create ruffles on the net fabric. Stitch along one edge and pull the thread to gather the fabric into ruffles.
Step 5: Flounce Sleeve
Cut and sew flounce sleeves by attaching the net fabric to the lining fabric. Gather the lower edge for a beautiful flounce effect.
Step 6: Button Placket
On the backside of the frock, create a button placket by folding the fabric and sewing buttonholes and buttons.
Step 7: Assembling
With the key pieces prepared, assemble the front and back of the frock. Attach the lapel collar, ruffle trim, and flounce sleeves. Stitch the side seams.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
Hem the bottom edge of the frock and the sleeves. Make any final adjustments as needed.
Step 9: Final Press
Give your frock a final press to make it look neat and elegant.
