Check with Jason from Coghill farms about what type of feed he uses for his emu. He also said that female emu’s are not as friendly as the males so it will be harder for you to tame her with such a large area instead of starting her in a small enclosure.
I am in Australia and I am convinced that Nugget is a female. From the stripes on her head as baby to her blue neck, to her size and to the way she chirps Males have swirls on their heads as babies, they don't have a blue neck and they make a low booming sound

So much fun Just get a lawn chair and some food and sit in the pasture and let them get used to you. Emus are fun I had to baby sit one for my boss once. She asked me if I could watch her bird for the weekend. Sure I said. I didn't know it was gonna be a Velossa Rapture . But he was cool and stayed in my fenced in yard. Goofy as all get out. Once you get the Emu to really let you touch her, she will become more affectionate. You may want to get her into a smaller enclosure for the time being. Otherwise, she will continue to run from you.
Littlefoot needs her own enclosure to get used to where she belongs and so that she can get closer to you and build a relationship with you and Lyssa ❤❤❤
You will love the Emu so much. They love grapes and berries as a treat and to win their heart over...they also love to soak in water on a hot day. I'm an Aussie and I'm so glad you have an Emu. Just remember they can jump their own height and more lol
How awesome! Love the emu, but you may need a smaller area for her so you can work on building a relationship. Jason at Cog Hill calls his the sheriff because they will protect your goats. And they run like crazy! Just like the Ostrich's do.
Little foot is so cute!!! Female emus turn into Carl at breeding season and make emus are calm like Debbie. I had a female once and she was a sweetheart when it wasn’t breeding season but wanted to kill everyone when it was haha

Cog Hill has Nugget the Emu. He is in with their goats. I suggest you see how they did with Nugget he is a BIG LOVER towards them. Best of luck with your new babies. Now that Nugget is all grown he is a very good protector of his pastures .
Loving the new babies and you getting them from a not so great situation. I think Little Foot will find her roll as flock leader of her mini goats soon as she adjusts to the new digs. Maybe get her a kiddie pool for over by the barn to cool off in since emu's like getting wet? I agree on others pointers on a cattle panel of the red gate so no one can squeeze through. I would clean LF sore everyday so she doesn't get fly strike. I am sure that was from her being in a small kennel and rubbing her skin off her back.

I’m glad you got her because it didn’t seem to be a nice place for her there and at home. Just love her, gain her trust and do your homework!!! You might wanna keep her in an enclosed pin right now until she learns her surroundings. Same with goats. They are all adorable. I love Emus!! Congratulations!
You got yourself a nice little herd. And the emu will make a nice protector for your little herd. I would suggest a DNA test for Littlefoot, to determine gender. Or just wait till it's older. And see if it lays eggs or not. 🤔💖😉 The little goats look like Nigerian Dwarf a dairy breed, and they can be born with or without wattles. They also will make great pets once you have them food trained. 💖💖💖 Since you did get them from a flea market and you don't know any of their health history, I would have you vet come out and do a health check on the little herd. It would be good to know that they are healthy and ready for your farm.
Congratulations for expanding your family. Littlefoot, is in a new world and muct be overwhelmed. Might want to bin her up to adjust. Have a great day😊

I do think Littlefoot needs a buddy. She’s adorable!!
That's great you're expanding the herd. Ball goat is gretty.
JAKE get that emu a swimming pool, they love water.
You got yourself a nice little herd. And the emu will make a nice protector for your little herd. I would suggest a DNA test for Littlefoot, to determine gender. Or just wait till it's older. And see if it lays eggs or not. 🤔💖😉
The little goats look like Nigerian Dwarf a dairy breed, and they can be born with or without wattles. They also will make great pets once you have them food trained. 💖💖💖
Since you did get them from a flea market and you don't know any of their health history, I would have you vet come out and do a health check on the little herd. It would be good to know that they are healthy and ready for your farm.
Congratulations for expanding your family. Littlefoot, is in a new world and muct be overwhelmed. Might want to bin her up to adjust. Have a great day😊
Congratulations! They will love their new forever home!
Jason at Cog Farm has an emu. He's friends with Lester, ask him about her
better get a panel on that new gate they will just go through it
Jason at Cog Hill Farm has a very sweet emu...I'm sure he will be glad to give advice and answer questions...
Great additions!
The spot on her vacation should heal and grow new feathers fairly quickly. She will be a great protector/companion for the goats
I know you are just learning about goats and other animals but when I bought animals especially like horses pigs goats cows always put them in a small area where they could not run too far that way I could have more on hand time without them freaking out so much it will take time when they have too much room hopefully when you feed them they will come down more as days go by great work glad you are growing your farm
I am excited for you guys. Congratulations. BTW Emus run when happy and excited as I have observed on White House On The Hll's 5 emus finning around with their kiddos and Charly on Arms, I imagine Little Foot running around with Shirltles Jake with joy.
