Brodie, speaking of rock walls, Rockwall TX has the course Harry Meyers park you always mistakenly call Round Rock, the John Houck course that was on tour before they took out the wooded holes
I generally like the look and layout of Maple Hill, overall it's a good course. However having junk teepads, christmas trees everywhere, roads as fairways filled with gravel, and rock walls. It's embarrassing to have it ranked number one in the world.
Best advice I've heard in a while. If you want to get good at disc golf, learn how to throw a Frisbee. Otherwise, it's like trying to ride a motorcycle without ever having learned how to ride a bicycle.
MattyO is the type of showman that can help separate golf from disc golf. Love how he wears his personality on his sleeve but still fully respects the game.
Matty O is relatable in a lot of ways. I don't know his whole story, but it's obvious the man has had his ups and downs, not only on the course, but in life. If he ever writes an autobiography, I'd be first in line to buy it.
By far, the BEST interview to date on Tour Life! Matty O is soo wholesome. Love the way he blends swag, with A.D.D., and a pinch of OCD. 😂 #ripdimebagdarrell
I’m so happy this man finally won a big tournament. I’m 30 minutes outside of Mobile, AL and 12-13 years ago when playing tournaments in the MADGA and other leagues down here I would see Matty O and Cameron Colglazier warming up. Watching Matty O warm up and play was like watching a machine he was so solid. And his dad Jim Orum ran the leagues and tournaments back then. Great people.
Yes!! I only found out disc golf even exists just a year and a half ago, and i cried when Matty O won. Like "after all these yeeeears!!" Haha it's just so good! Great podcast guys thank you again.
I first saw him play on video a friend had, he was 17 or 18 I think, super string-bean. This was by far the very best interview you've had, and you have had some other really good ones ! I've seen him play in person three times, always has the glasses on head tumbling off, and he's still the string-bean ! Jim-O - Matt-O - love it.
Rockwalls in the northeast are everywhere. They were property boundaries back in the 16/1700s. Today they are part of the charm of living in New England.
Farmers would dig these rocks out of their fields so they could plow, and then they gave 5 of their 10 kids something to do from April to November. Build walls. Lol
Played Southern National tourneys way back in the early 2000s down south with him and his dad Jim O, one of the best guys I ever met in disc golf. So glad to see Matty O win MVP.
This was beautiful. What a story, what a character, what a journey. Was choked up watching hole 18, really seeing it as a metaphor for perseverance. Let’s go!
I just got into disc golf last year, when I saw Matty-O on some gatekeeper coverage. Instantly fell in love with his style and became a Matty-O fan. So glad I got to see him win and see him on tour life
Matty if you see this message from udisc course rating, Maryland has a number 1 rated course called Turkey hill its a mix of mostly open shots on the front 9 and then a mix of open and wooded holes on the back 9
Great interview with one of the realest dudes on tour. So happy for him to get not only a DGPT win but a big ass prize that will get him into a house. On a side note, Brodie has become a great interviewer, asking some great questions and knowing when to let the guests keep rolling. Uli was great too--as always. Good stuff all around week to week.
Heck yeah Paul! One of my favorite tournaments I participated in was Pendaries, up in northern New Mexico, where I watched you take down Feldberg in a playoff. I think 2015? Total stab in the dark on the year…
Next year, I would like to see you guys step it up on the technical side of that you do. You guys are great and I want to see you polish it up to the next level. Love what you are doing with the content. The discussions, the debates, and the interviews. Brodie, I loved how you handled yourself with the haters on that one episode. It’s easier to hate someone than to self reflect and deal with one’s own self.
WHOLESOME, is the word that comes to mind with Matty-O; you can tell he loves his family and his AL culture. He clearly has lived well (and hard at times), and I think we can agree we all feel happy with his win, no matter who your favorite player is (was?!). LET'S GO MATTY-O!
Thanks for coming on Marty-O. Entertaining show as always. Agree with a little too much flukiness at Maple Hill. Rock walls are cool but hard on discs. A little surprised to hear Matt call out Pantera and Darrel. 👍
Rock walls are everywhere in Southern New England, if you go hiking in the woods there are hundreds of miles of them. Its a shout-out to our landscape. When the original settlers cleared the woods for agriculture they brought up all the rocks and made walls all over the place. There are Rock walls everywhere.
Rock walls: As the historical marker on Brewster 2 explains, farmers ca. 1650-1850 cleared their fields of trees and ROCKS because new england rocky soil is bad for crops and tilling. Then the US expanded westward and new england crop farming became irrelevant (NE is good for cows, bad for corn-look at Cabot/Ben&Jerry’s). The trees grew back, but no one ever bothered to move the rock walls. They get incorporated into disc golf course design sometimes and will certainly take a chunk out of your favorite Passion or get repurposed to help fight erosion, but they’re wicked cool.
He seems like the dude you had in the locker that you could not wait to hear what he would say. People ask him stuff just to hear whatever he would say. I miss the locker room talk!
I remember watching coverage that Lone Star in '21 in Austin (my hometown) ... was at MetCenter disc golf course. First time Matty O really popped up on my radar.
One of my all time favorite interviews. Hope you all enjoy.

@discgolfdetails9889 lol so some compliments of the course, then go on to rip way more strenuously....you do government work.
Best advice I've heard in a while. If you want to get good at disc golf, learn how to throw a Frisbee. Otherwise, it's like trying to ride a motorcycle without ever having learned how to ride a bicycle.
It was so awesome. Great job on the interview one of the best yet after climb and tattar
Matty-O is the weirdest, funniest, sassiest dude to ever play this game. What a character. So, so happy for him 🙏
He's only weird if you don't know him,,otherwise he's just like everyone else,just a calm,cool,normal dude
@@scottdavis5076 Yeah, I didn't really mean weird as in anything negative. I guess 'unique' is the word I'm looking for.
MattyO is the type of showman that can help separate golf from disc golf. Love how he wears his personality on his sleeve but still fully respects the game.
Hot Take: Brodie should be a guest commentator on a Jomez with Uli
That would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Matty O just became my favorite disc golfer. It was Simon... But Matty is a Pantera fan 🤘
Matty O is relatable in a lot of ways. I don't know his whole story, but it's obvious the man has had his ups and downs, not only on the course, but in life. If he ever writes an autobiography, I'd be first in line to buy it.
Thanks Matty-O for doing the interview. I smiled and laughed the whole time. The more people get to know you the more they become big fans.
Matty O most entertaining player on the tour. So happy for him, ordered the commemorative Stag right when they released today.
The Stag is starting to be my favorite disc. I love them. I should order one of the commemorative ones too. Wanted a Pine though
I grew up In Alabama and Matty O is Alabama all the way. There is a certain kind of crazy sense of humor that is all about where he calls home!
Matty O’s win was so great. Amazing disc golf and the love for that guy from pretty much everyone is absolutely beautiful.
Kristen Tattar and Matty O, two of the best interviews ever. ❤
Matto O yelling Dimebag Darrell i knew then he was a CHAMPION!!
By far, the BEST interview to date on Tour Life! Matty O is soo wholesome. Love the way he blends swag, with A.D.D., and a pinch of OCD. 😂 #ripdimebagdarrell
Facts!!! You can't help but to relate to him and root for him!
I am in complete gratitude for this interview. Matt Orum is all soul. I hope that he gets paid enough to buy that house.
Those rock walls have got to be 200 years old if not older. That’s pretty cool.
I remember meeting and playing on a card with Matty O in 2009. What a pure good soul. I remember thinking htf does he putt like that?!
I’m so happy this man finally won a big tournament. Best discgolf podcast. I wanna listen to players comments, not fan boys. Just my opinion
Matty O interview has to go down as one of the best your life podcast interviews ever
Listening to Matty O and he remembers EVERYONE and shouts them out ❤
Yes!! I only found out disc golf even exists just a year and a half ago, and i cried when Matty O won. Like "after all these yeeeears!!" Haha it's just so good! Great podcast guys thank you again.

They're all over my back yard here in Kentucky too
1:12:35 Maryland definitely cool. Matty O would love the seafood especially crabs.
This was your best interview yet. Matty O is an absolute legend
Matty-O is fantastic great to hear his honest opinions and see his fun personality.
We love you Matty-O... kindest, coolest dude. Don't change!
Uli go out there and show them just exactly how good you are! We are all pulling for you and cant wait to see you climb the leader board
Awesome Matty O interview. So glad you were able to get him on the show!
"NO! But it damn sho felt like it!! " instant classic - great interview.
Played Southern National tourneys way back in the early 2000s down south with him and his dad Jim O, one of the best guys I ever met in disc golf. So glad to see Matty O win MVP.

Matty O is just an electrifying human being!
Matty O is an absolute legend!!! Thank you so much!!!
Matty O is the greatest player y’all have, and maybe ever will have on.
He’s such a relatable guy. Props to him. And Congrats 🎊
My fav new game to play. Which famous quote does Brodie mess up. This week: 51:59. “All Steam ahead” as opposed to Full steam ahead
Climo, Tattar, Simon, MattyO
These four interviews were all incredible. Thanks for the content and Roll Tide!!
I just got into disc golf last year, when I saw Matty-O on some gatekeeper coverage. Instantly fell in love with his style and became a Matty-O fan. So glad I got to see him win and see him on tour life
Classic MattyO holding his phone! Hounddog boom
Matty O is a gem of the disc golf community. Big love and congratulations
Best TL so far! Matty-O is a legend! Thx boys ❤️
Matty-O!!! My favorite hands down!!! Thanks guys
Matty-O is the best!!!!
Incredible interview with my hometown boy MattyO!! One of the best shows ever.
One of the best personalities to be interviewed for tour life!!great history knowledge of player in the sport.
Great interview and so nice he won elite at last. 🎉
Matty O is to Disc Golf what Les Claypool is to Music Pure Gold
Matty if you see this message from udisc course rating, Maryland has a number 1 rated course called Turkey hill its a mix of mostly open shots on the front 9 and then a mix of open and wooded holes on the back 9

Fantastic interview!!
Let's do it. Way to go Uli!
I think Climo is still my favorite interview, but man, Matty-O is *freakin awesome* !! What a great, down to earth guy ❤
Heck yeah Paul! One of my favorite tournaments I participated in was Pendaries, up in northern New Mexico, where I watched you take down Feldberg in a playoff. I think 2015? Total stab in the dark on the year…
Way to play Uli. I got to watch you at the tournament. If I played maple hill I think I would have a melt down. So demanding.
Awesome Interview...congrats on getting Matty-O......and Congrats MATTY O !!! and hoping you get some more.....🙂
great interview, well done again boys..
How does anyone not love Matty O. Dude is as real as it gets.
Great pod with Matty O!

Lead card had a long rules clarification on hole 9 (part of the reason for the gap).
First I’ve watched an entire episode. Big thanks for that.
The player everyone loves!
As a Notre Dame alum, he is the ONLY 'Bama fan I've ever rooted for. (heads up ND leads 'Bama 5-3)
Need more Matty O
Such a Genuine and Down to Earth Guy, Congrats to Matty-O!
Thanks for coming on Marty-O. Entertaining show as always. Agree with a little too much flukiness at Maple Hill. Rock walls are cool but hard on discs. A little surprised to hear Matt call out Pantera and Darrel. 👍
Best Tour Life interview ever
Joe’s KC BBQ is just down the street from Rosedale Park (Up Top and Down Under courses), and is so good. Matty O knows good BBQ, lol.
Would love to see Brodie live commenting on the last tourney !
#teamflow Matty O!!!!
Lmao- look around New England - rock walls everywhere- part of our history- maple hill did not erect all those rock walls 😂
Rock walls are everywhere in Southern New England, if you go hiking in the woods there are hundreds of miles of them. Its a shout-out to our landscape. When the original settlers cleared the woods for agriculture they brought up all the rocks and made walls all over the place. There are Rock walls everywhere.
Absolutely fantastic interview! I love hearing Matty O giving the OG history of Disc Golf. Great stuff.
When you accidentally said maple hole 🕳️ I died 😂😂
Matty is a magical disc golf creature.
Great interview!
as a left handed player, hole 14 is menacing
This is the best Tour Life yet. No disrespect to the other ones but we all need more MattyO in the spotlight.
Such a great player, and very entertaining to watch!
Rockwalls at Brewster and Foxrun. on a different note. Matty O is so amazing.
Rock walls: As the historical marker on Brewster 2 explains, farmers ca. 1650-1850 cleared their fields of trees and ROCKS because new england rocky soil is bad for crops and tilling. I know what you mean. Matty-O is THAT dude for sure.
MattyO is a charm, what a fun dude! :) Huge grats to him he totally deserved the win! :D
This dude is so genuine and I frickn love it. Let’s Go MattyO 🤘🏻
I remember watching coverage that Lone Star in '21 in Austin (my hometown) ... was at MetCenter disc golf course. First time Matty O really popped up on my radar.
I like the double mando on 8 idea
Paul you ask great questions, and Brodie does a good job keeping the flow.
Matty O is so cool!!!
Matty O is the best! Loved the interview! Man I like to get my hands on one of those Uli Darkhorse discs, they sound sick!
Great job boys.
Brodie’s wall parked toss on hole 1 @ maple hill was a sight to see and he still loves the walls.
So freaking Proud of you Matt!! You and I both know, your dad is smiling so big!! Love you and keep having fun 😘!!
See ya when you get home ~Snap
Blitz Bama Blitz!!! Matty-O is the best!

Agreed
I liked Matty O before this interview. After, like him even more! This dude is awesome
Matty-O the people's Champion
The rock walls in New England were originally property lines
41:31…Matty O is glowing with sunbeams
