I remember testing out the membrane keyboard in a shop in Basingstoke at the time. It was relatively early and had sprites which was impressive at the time
The 8bit systems will always have that retro appeal especially one with a name like Atari attached to it. I agree an ST would be very interesting and could do well, especially if GEM could be incorporated. And legally like the 400 a ST should be possible.. so we'll have to wait and see!

As far as I remember, there was a cartridge plugged into the left side under the cover for BASIC
