Feet straight forward is Mark signature for all exercises. That gives more rotation to the upper body. 100% agree with this basic principal. More cores fired. 👊🏾
My 2 favorite mace exercises combined. I lift 5 lbs heavier with the gravedigger than with the 360. Plus I crossover more when placing the mace to the ground. I'm adjusting my form because of this video. Thank Mark
I love the Midwest background (my guess is someplace in western Ohio). I own all the equipment in the background. I suggest replacing the manure spreader with a PTO driven one. It will save some aggravation.
Just got a mace a few days ago looking forward to getting into this stuff - for shoulder mobility, core and fun. those grave diggers ~look~ easy but are killer for core stabilization.
What a great excercise. Love the posture correction aspect. A couple of questions. 1. What metric should we use to determine what weight to use? Is this a heavy weight, low rep thing? Or a moderate weight medium rep? Or low weight light high rep? Or does it depend on what the goals are? I want to build strength, but am mostly interested in general overall fitness and functional mobility. I don't love love lifting heavy so tend to avoid it which is probably limiting my strength growth. 2. Is there a similar cross-body excercise? Meaning, using the Mace literally like a shovel and bringing it up across the body to the opposite ear?
Many thanks mate. Seen battle lunge using mace. It is impressive.Useful for front foot drives. Now looking for some with clubs and also specific to bowlers
Mark... Would you recommend doing multiples of 4 sets of this (like heavy club stuff)? Would we do the 360 in both directions (inside / outside) with each hand on top?
You could certainly do more sets or longer times and turn this into a conditioning piece as you suggest. The beauty of all of these mace movements is that they can be recovery, they can be conditioning, and they can be pure strength
@@MarkWildman Thanks Mark. Got an Arc around a month ago (to go with my club) and it's very fun to work out with. And now my wife and I can do the Nerd Math Heavy Club program together. Would never have gotten into this without the videos you've made.
I don't do the gravedigger like that. I do it exactly like I did with a shovel at summer jobs in my youth. Much better "Schwung" than in your lame variant! You lift it. I throw it up!
Condensing 2-3 exercises into 1 is a brilliant way to condition and strengthen the body whilst improving your motor skills . Win Win

@4:52 "the world is not setup like a barbell" fucking awesome

Cool. I like it. It's simple yet dynamic.
An interesting combination, thanks Mark.
And Merry Xmas!
Smart training

1. You can do it anyway you want.
If you mace long enough you’ll end up doing all of those options anyway
2. Yes. We will change the top and bottom positions. Gravedigger is really a whole family of movements
@@MarkWildmanlove it!
With a crossbody lateral movement on the bottom and a casting movement on top, any reason to not think about this like a mill variation?
Nice combination!
Finally got an ARC from ADEX.... grave digger to 360 is 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful!!
This reminds me of the Touch N Go 360 Donny did from Adex Clubs
I’ll look it up.
Many thanks for all your videos. Enjoying the clubs at the moment.Any movement patterns similar to Batsman in Cricket?
Battle lunge!

How long does it take to do 360s where you don’t look up at the mace?

Fucking awesome.
As my favorite turtles in the 90s would say, Cowabunga!
