This is the first video made with my new Sony A6400 camera and Rode Videomic Pro+ for audio. Do you notice the difference in audio and video quality? :) Please let me know in the comments!

Sorry, this looks like a lot of work with little return. I prefer the Roger-Braulio Pass of Doom, this approaches that position but never stacks far enough, like more to north-south. You've certainly offered a valid alternative, I just think theirs is easier and more reliable, and great against long legged, flexible guard players. ua-cam.com/video/2Azya8YMFZI/v-deo.html

      Thanks for the feedback!
I think my version offers more control. I don't want to pass fast. I want my opponent to suffer a bit and get tired in the process.
I think Roger, because of his size can get away with a bit more leeway.

    Brilliant video.
Love this tight style of passing and straight into a finish 👌🏽
Wim's passing instructional is brilliant and shows stuff like this and a whole lot more with breaking it all down.

I have seen Priit's version of stack pass. I think your's is a very good compliment to it.
    Thank you again sir.

Audio and video quality were fine for my viewing. Camera could have been a little closer perhaps. I’m looking forward to practicing this pass because I am already fond of the Tozi variations, and São Paulo variations. Thank you.

So true, the stand-up escape could be very tiresome, especially with opponent who’s holding you in closed guard “for dear life”. This looks very interesting, thanks for sharing! Something tells me I’ll got triangled/armbared a few times before I get it right 😜
P.S. Btw I haven’t noticed any difference in audio quality (watched on mobile), but video quality increase was noticeable right off.

    • @WimDeputterBJJ
      @WimDeputterBJJ  4 роки тому +3

Let me know how the experimenting goes! For the armbar and triangle are solutions as well 😊
That is weird... the audio should have been the most drastic improvrement.

    • @KosRoss

Wim Deputter I’ve tried triangle defense you were showing as well - so far it works only on white belts (often times triangle to armbar transition is a big problem as well with advanced practitioners). Clearly I’m missing some important detail(s) while doing it. If you’re planning on making a specific video on that it would be great 😊
Basic things like Baby Bridge or mount escape that you we’re showing worked like a charm from the beginning on any opponent I came across. But these advanced techniques will require some time of tries and fails to be able to pull off - just the way it is. And it’s completely fine.
I’ll write back here how it goes (might take some time as quarantine measures will likely return in my city).

thanks man. I want to lean the stack pass. Saw another instruction but got my back taken... this might help.
I think stack passing is more intelligent in principle. Don't resist the pull, go all in 👍

Good quality audio and video, and also helps that you and latif wear different colour clothing. Makes it easier to follow the techniques.

Thank you for showing the counter at the end but uke needs to address the arm around the head immediately otherwise tori gets a free move when passing.

    • @WimDeputterBJJ
      @WimDeputterBJJ  3 роки тому +1

      Al kunnen proberen ondertussen?
      Hoe ging het? 😊

The audio was great. The video was a little fuzzy, but that might be either my connection speed or the fact that it was a live video. Related question to this topic: Im a white belt and there is another very large white belt that will get hands in armpits, head on my chest, and tripod up and push into me when he is in my closed guard. I have difficulty shoulder walking away because he is so heavy on my chest and will grab my Gi in my armpits and prevent me from making space. Any advice on how to break out of this position from bottom? Its very frustrating to get locked down there and have him stall for several minutes.

      Thank you for your comment!
Great to hear the audio was good 😊
Did you try putting the video in HD? Maybe that is the reason for the fuziness.
That, or I have to check the zoom settings on the camera.
I know exactly what you mean. It is hard to deal with. That's exactly why I like this pass 😊
The first tip I would give you, is to stay calm, don't push the opponent away and take your time.
To sweep him, you will need a mistake on his part.
If he doesn't make a mistake, I usually try to transition to half guard or butterfly (either single or double).
Give it a few days and will make a follow up video to deal with this on bottom.

Wim Deputter Thanks for the response. When I put the playback in HD the video looks great now that I am playing it back, but it had no effect when I was watching live. Thank you for the advice on my closed guard smash issue and I will keep my eyes open for the video about it. Id also just like to say I really enjoy your content and how you challenge conventional wisdom. Your BJJ Fanatics videos are also amazing and I hope you get the opportunity to do more work with them soon. Thank you for all you do.

@@ricktopping9215 Oef, great the HD worked. That made my day 😊 I was afraid I had messed it up.
Thank you for nice feedback and comments. I really appreciate that!
Challenging conventional wisdom has been the point a bit from the beginning. I don't like it when people claiming something is "for beginners" or "it doesn't work" without exploring it fully.
Travelling for the foreseeable future will probably be a bit hard. I'm planning to film some more instructionals myself. BJJ Fanatics told me "please make a lot more". So that's what I will do 😊
Which of my instructionals did you see so far?

Wim Deputter I have the intro to the mirroring principal and the back defense and being offensive DVDs. I have watched the intro DVD twice now and am actively trying to implement especially the side control and framing from bottom portions right now. My academy is working through escapes and my plan is to watch the back DVD shortly before we begin working that position in training.

If it's possible, could you please leave a small review on the BJJ Fanatics website for these intructionals?
Those really help out a lot.
